I finally bought StreetTuner. I really wanted EcuTek, but somehow I couldn't resist the temptation of tuning my own car. =P I played with it for couple days, and it's very user friendly.

Here are some reasons of why i picked StreetTuner over Ecutek

    1. I get the fun part of tuning [IMG]
    2. ST(and AP) can change realtime map in less a min for different occasion. (such as anti-theft and valet mode) [IMG]
    3. I can datalog whenever I want to. [IMG]

    Continued

(wow~ These couldn't fit in with one post!!)

I'm waiting for my Stromung high flow cat to be shipped which will replace my last factory cat. This will give me some topend HP that i'm missing right now.  Can't WAIT!!!

I made 223WHP/227WTQ last time at top speed. I'm aiming for 240WHP/250WTQ with little more of boost and timing. I wish that i can have stromung cat b4 dyno, but unfortunately, i can't. oh well.... Maybe next time, i'm gonna go to topspeed and pay $90 for whole hour dyno for fine tuning and AFR check.

My laptop SUCKS!!!! :wtc: :wtc: I tried road tune today, but somehow it couldn't connect to ECU. Actually it does, but it can't keep up long connection. It's 5yr old Sony.... oh well... I'm just runnging with 17PSI boost realmap which is slightly better than base stage2 map.

I guess i have another reason to go with ecutek instead. Don't wanna spend another $1k on laptop and $300 on WB. Hmm... where should i go???

I had the Street tuner for a 04 STi. I love it. But sold the STi recently.

To be honest I'd be wary of futzing with near any tuning without one. They're not cheap, but they are insurance. Would recommend that and an EGT sensor/gauge setup before you get too deep into it.

I have EGT gauge. Highest i ever saw was 1500F. That's why I felt like i can turn up little more of boost, 1 psi.
