Alright i have narrowed to these 2 tires because 1. they are cheap and 2. they arnt to shabby for the price. All these prices are shipped to my door because they offer free shipping. I have the toyos now and they are fine to me minus the cords are about to come through ahha....

These are 225/45/17 tires but i put the 215/45/17 price in parenthesis.

    this is the first

No experience with the 711s, but my Formula had Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s and they friggin' rocked.

I would definitely go with the Toyos if those are your to options, unless you made a mistake, the Kuhmos aren't even Z rated.

On another note, After recently getting a set of Falkin Azenis RTs, I will not get a different set of tires, my new tires are quite like my SO3s, have about the same tread life, and are fantastic on the Auto X course (Where the SO3s were lacking). They are quite a bit more expensive than the tires you are looking at though at $169 per.

yea im prolly gonna do the toyos they seem to be good for the price. Do you think its worth the extra 20 or so bucks to get the 225? or should i just get the 215s? these are just gonna be to ride around on really nothing more.

go with the toyo. i had some h rated after the stock re92 and they sucked even though they were potenzas and wider than stock. and i would go with the 225. looks sooo meaty on 7" rims unless you dont like that look.

i had the 711's... not the most grippy but will last forever... mine lasted almost 30k miles after 3 autoX events and a track day... had to replace because my camber ate trhu the inner edge

I'm withholding final judgement on my new tires until I've had them @ the track. They do ride quieter and softer than stock...

    Good luck with these.

On my Wife's Protege 5 we went thru a full set in like 9 months (~12k miles), so I was not to impressed with the durability. They held the road pretty good.

I am actually completely satisfied with the falkens we have on her car now. They rock!!

i'm running them now, 235/45/18's ...so far so good, not as rigid as the kumho 712's but they don't tramline like the 712's either. they do make more noise around fast corners though, which is nice, they give you some warning. the kumhos slipped silently on me, but you could feel when that was going to happen (er, while it was happening lol). so far i'm liking the yoko's better. i typically wouldn't expect the full life expectancy out of "budget" high performance tires (i know, 100-150 a tire isn't cheap for most of us but it ain't expensive in terms of HP tires)

    ?????
didn't know they made a z rated tire that would last over 30,000 miles, but i guess it all depends on how u drive

for most purposes, yes. mich-pilots would give you much more of both, for about 225$ a tire (but not enough more of both to justify the nearly 1k$ worth of cost IMHO).

the yoko avs are W rated i believe which is higher than z.

no worries dude, you'll be fine. finding the right tire for your car/preferences is like trying to find the perfect shoe... trial and error.

one man's saucony is another man's brooks. or something.

Thats bizarre, I had these on my Focus SVT and put 20K on them of "spirited" driving, and they looked like they still had plenty of life in them when I sold the car.....
