So i've been looking into buying new tires as mine are wore slap out...I just got my STI in February so i'm new to the scene. Looking for some more expert advice. I wont be tracking the car anytime in these tires life most likely. but I do drive Spirited at times as we all do. And i want to be able to stick when i want to...But i also desire good wet traction because it is my daily driver, and rain can't always be avoided for me. I'm looking to spend anywhere from $400-600 for a whole set. So suggestions are open at this time from people who have tried differrent compounds/tires for our climate in the Atlanta/Georgia area. My rims are the stock BBS Rims, so 225/45/17s. maybe something with a little bit more stance like a 235. But nothing too extreme on the stance.

    Thanks all,
    Justin

The 05 BBS are 8" so 235 would be perfect, you could get away with 245s depending on suspention setup. I personally went with 235s on my 05

I've always kept cheap tires on mine as I end up replacing them all the time anyways and since I just dd mine I haven't ever cared to invest much into them. I used to love running Kumho Ecsta SPT's but they're a bit harder to come by now. I had Yokohama S Drives and they wore quite badly and cupped within 7500 miles of use. I'll have to double check since it's been so long since I've seen my car :( lol but I'm pretty sure I have Dunlop DZ101's on it now and they've held up alright and were comparable to the Kumho's I used to run. Haven't gone through them yet so I'm not sure on mileage.

In that price range, for the money I like the Falken 912. I got some good mileage out of them and wet handling was great.
