tranny issues

    alright guys my 02 has 88k miles now. Car has been overall driven hard im not gonna lie. 4th gear has gotten to the point were it grinds every single shift from 3rd to 4th. If i downshift from 5th-4th its fine and if i do a very slow shift from 3rd to 4th it doesnt. But i am talking SLOW shift. anywayz i am curious if its the syncros. Im on the factory clutch still and its losing pressure as time goes which means that its going out. has anyone had these issues with there trannies? im hoping its not gonna need to be replaced but if it does i need something done.

    btw i have royal purple tranny oil. However i wouldn think that only 1 gear would grind bc of that.

    sounds like the syncros with the grinding problem..you will know when your clutch is slipping

    Yeah i had the same exact problem you are having my third gear started grinding a few months ago, now it is at topspeed with a tore up tranny. :wtc:

    Actually i think we are upgrading to a forrester xt tranny. pretty sweet upgrade if you ask me.

    Its already has a motor swap topspeed put a ej25 in and it has exhasut with a reflash.
    240 whp
    298 ft lbs

    peak boost is at 18 and its 298 ft lbs of tourqe, i don not have my dyno sheet but you can ask doug and tray at topspeed if you would like to see it.
