I'm happy with my ver5 non-RA STI tranny. I dont beat the car daily so I cant comment on the strength. I've been told that it feels a lot more solid than a standard WRX 5speed, though I've never driven one.

Depends on the Cash you have, if your case is still good or whatnot. Could go with new synchros or a whole new deal. Are you the type to beat on a tranny(like me?) But v6 RA is a good bet overall.

If you are replacing gears, you can be fancy and get the kazz set if your rich, or you can get the RA gear set installed both are great, though the RA isnt Shear proof just stronger which should be fine. If you need a new tranny go ahead and grab the v6 RA transmission. The 6-Speed is going to require a bit more parts than just the transmission to swap iirc.
