I can't keep my EGT sensor in its bung :hsnono:. I have a Perrin DP. It fell out for the first time about 3 or 4 months ago. I tightened it the best I could, and it fell out again. So I had SOG tighten it when I took it in for maintenance before a roadtrip. That seemed to work fine until I went on said roadtrip... the EGT sensor would not stay in more than 120 miles on the highway. So I had to hand tighten it every two hours or so at a gas station :squint: As soon as I got home, I got some tools on it and I have kept an eye on it since. The thing still loosens! There has to be a better solution to this. Any ideas? Is there a high-temp thread-lock or something? New EGT? Thanks!

Usu. the opposite is the problem. They get stuck and then you strip it trying to get it out.Was the pipe new?I do not know of a hi-temp loctite. My guess is that the threads are too loose. My concern would be that you would over fix this and then not be able to get it out.

Remove the egt probe and find a plug. Tack weld the plug so it won't back out. You can get rid of the cel with a simple flash.

^^ I never thought of just removing the sensor. So that won't affect engine performance (with the flash obviously)?

Do what Liquidforce said. You should be able to get to that plug for at least one tack weld (it'll be tight but I think you can get to it at least in one spot). The CEL fix is simply a resistor. No performance benefit to that EGT....it poses a serious chance of breaking and getting thrown into your turbo.

Ok... so a little bit of research tells me I need a 2.2K ohm 1/2 watt resistor and just jam it into the plug for the sensor. Now I just need to find that resistor and a plug...

Yep. Radio Shack has that resistor. The plug you can find at any Autozone/advance. Find out what thread you need.
