Well the turbo and that UP are just fine I'd imagine. Like most things, its hard to diagnose a noise over the internet. Do you feel any loss of power?

Its fine most likely. It just sounds like your wastegate is actuating. 2700 rpm's is right where the wastegate is trying to close and spool your turbo. The turbulent air from the headers probably causes your wastegate to open and close if you are chilling at 2700 rpm's. I would most likely believe that is the case, especially if you don't have any CEL's and you are hitting target boost. Check what the Cobb stage you are running target boost is supposed to be.

Mine does this too. The turbo whistle sounds chopy or like it's sputering. Sometimes i hear it below 3,000 ,sometimes it sounds fine.Doesnt seem to be any performance problems. I just have a DP on mine.

^^ right. Mine has a churping sort of noise. Its just from the pulsing of the exhaust.

I have yet to see the supposed 15.8. I had 14.4 max beforemy new tmic....15.4 after, even with the HWG map that is "use at your own risk" due to massive boost! Still not getting it. I have tightened all the hoses, got a DB and catless UP. Next attempt is removing the high flow cat and see if that gets it. I have adjusted the wastgate arm, everything...only thing I can think of is that it is the turbo. I am either going with a stock replacement I bought or getting a 16g. I WILL own a 16g at some point, it is just a matter of cash at this point. I own the injectors now, just need the pump and turbo and i am set. I have a bit of a whistling noise too from mine...

Just saw this thread, sounds like you need to tighten your WG arm a turn or two. Nothing major.

by the way, the only true way to tell if you have a leak is to remove the pipe and look around the gasket. That will tell a tale right there. if there are no black markings on the gaskets or the flange then you are straight. What up do you have on the car?

    try a simple fix first
it may be the WG arm rattling, helper spring to see if its the cause. Getting the 7 screws on the turbo Heastshield is a PITA.

Yes i had the rattle like you mentioned before my stage2
now its less because the whistle and the rumble is a tad louder :)

Sounds like wastegate flutter to me. Perfectly normal and not harmful.

The sound is probably just wastegate flutter, perfectly normal. The low boost might be an UP leak, or a boost leak. Make sure you are able to go WOT at 3500 rpm or so in order to see true peak boost.
