so im running a catless 3" tbe with no muffler.... it sounds really mean and i like it, but its just toooo loud. my room mates say they can hear me almost 2 miles before i get to our apt... and when im driving slow through a shopping center it echos off the building and sounds like 2 harleys... i really dont know how i havent gotten pulled over yet. although i have a had a few cops fallow me..:keke:

so im thinking about just picking up an hks muffler and having it welded on. just wanted to hear some opinions

Yeah that'll work. It might look a little stupid unless you're really specific on how you want it to look at the back of the car. Picture the sagging ricey muffler look.

I would just order a good quality 3" muffler and have it welded somewhere in the exhaust stream so the exhaust looks the same at the back of the car. Magnaflows are good....its what I used when I had my exhaust made, and it'll be much cheaper than the HKS, and a bit quieter.

I think I would just get an ebay cat back for around $150-$200 before I would spend the time and money on a weld on system.

Invidia exhaust sounds good. I will be installing one soon my self.

And bolt on systems FTW, welding FTL. unless ofcourse you are trying to save some money.
