Hey everyone - has anyone every tried these a038's? Supposedly they're R compound and the predecessor to the a048's. I'm getting a set of these for about 100 tire. :p

Oh I can get more :) They're stored in climate controlled warehouses so
they're good. Apparently theres not much info on the about these. They
seem popular with bimmers and UK folks

    Never heard of those.

The 235/40 will change your speedo by about 5mph (reading fast). They're a bit shorter in diameter.

Just got my car back. It does read about 5mph faster at 70mph.

The tires are actually a032's. They're sticky when warmed up.
They're a bit noisy for daily driving.

The tires are a bit lighter than the re01r's plus the slightly smaller diameter
makes it even lighter. I picked up a set of rare mint wedsport tc105n
from my trip up in the northwest and they weigh in less than 15 pounds!
Between the tire change and the wheels I'm 8 pounds less per corner.

The car drives completely different! The steering is noticably lighter
and nimbler! I can't wait to take it to a track.

They came off of this car :)
