So I felt like making food...

First off, prepping the meat for the main dish. Skirt steak marinated in Tecate, lemon juice, garlic, kosher salt and pepper:

But, to go with it we need green salsa! Let's look at the ingredients... left to right: poblanos, tomatillos, habaneros, and cilantro. Also present is a fresh espresso for the chef.

Oh wait, we're forgetting mr White Onion:

First we need to broil the stuff:

Do the same to the habaneros, poblanos and white onion. Take the stuff out when it looks like this:

Time for a guest appearance by mr Cuisinart:

By the way, skirt steak is a little frightening in that unlike most meats you get packaged it really does look like it came out of--and belongs inside--an animal.

Nah, just a very obsessive hobby. Cruise on over sometime and I'll treat you to dinner, moose-style.

So let's see what happened to the meat.

After about 4 hours of marinating, this is the result:

Not too appetizing? Check out the marbling:

Mr Cast Iron pan is waiting:

In goes the meat and some yellow and green bell pepper strips:

    Few minutes later:

    Warmed tortillas are waiting:

The final result... yes, that is generic Publix taco cheese, not proper. But ya know what? F proper, I cook what I LIKE. So, meat and peppers in tortilla, some cheese, and some of that glorious salsa verde pictured above. Absolute heaven.

Yeah, I always felt a bit intimidated by Mexican cooking since I had no clue about it... your stuff was inspiring, so decided to give it a go.
