dent removal/scratch repair g2g at 9AM on 8/26 at SOG! Hey everyone, there seems to be a lot of interest on a dent removal g2g so I figure I try to start one. Jeff Markel (who does dent removal for SOG) will be the person who actual does the dent removal and Ryan (paint repairs for SOG) will do the scratches and paint related issues. As of now, I'm thinking the saturday August 26th or maybe even sunday depending on how many people want it done. I'll mark you down if anyone wants it done. So please say if you want dent removed, or scratches, or both, and also how many of each. In addition, I don't really know where it will take place, any suggestions would be great! UPDATE: The price for dents will be between 20-60, depending on size. The price for paint repair (scratches) will be between 30-125, of course 125 is like a huge deep scratch all the way across your door or something. Also, Ryan said if you have an entire bumper that needs to be repaired, it'll be about 250. These prices are just a guideline, not set in stone. Everything will depend on size, location, and number. Of course, it'll might depend on your own negotiating skills . The date is finalized and set to the 26th of August. The locations will be either at SOG or a parking lot very close to there. UPDATE: OK, it's finalized, the event will be held at SOG on Saturday 8/26/06. The day will start at 9AM, so please be early if you can since there might be thunder storms in the afternoon. Bring some friends too if they are interested in our sweet sweet cars . There will be a sign up sheet when you get there for your name and cell #. That way, we can start a line and if you want to go do some other stuff around that area you can and jeff or ryan will just call you when you are next up. Hope to see everyone there! If you want a personalized quote from either Jeff or Ryan here are their numbers: Jeff: 770-900-6471 Ryan: 678-410-5506 Attending: 1. me (scratches) 2. I'm interested because i just got a couple of dents done 90 bucks and they seem good butnot quite perfect, just wanna see if he could say if there was anything more he could do
good new people! I got Ryan (the guy who does the paint repairs for SOG) to come also! However, he's not sure about that particular weekend, I'll update it as soon as he let's me know. So both Jeff and Ryan will be there on the same day, it's just a matter of which day.
do they have their own shop?? I'm very interested, but I might have to get personal quote since my car has way too many scars...
they don't have a shop, both of them work out of their car. how many scares are we talking about? we might make this a two day thing if they are too many people or too many "scars".
ok, that's not bad. I just told jeff that most people will probably have a couple so he can estimate how long it'll take him to do all the cars.
Same, I have little skritches and scratches all up and down the Baja from when my ex-boy drove it around for work. Have two little dents also, but nothing major. I just can't stand those car-length scratches all over her. :wtc:
I'm sure Ryan can do most paint repairs since he does entire bumpers sometimes. As far as the price goes, it should be way cheaper than any of the shop around atlanta like dent wizard. I got my big grape fruit sized dent with a huge crease all the way across my trunk taken care of for $45, while dent wizard quoted me for $400. Once we have enough people, and an exact number of dents and scratches, I'll ask them for a group price or something, of course, everything still depends on the size of the dents and stuff.
Sign me up. If he does a really good job. I have tiny paint chips, about 20 of them, approx 2mm in size so they are tiny. I just dont like do it yourself jobs, so Id rather have a pro take care of it.
I have a dent that I'd like taken care-of...also maybe do something about my crazy looking trunk job...not sure if a rub-out will evenout my oxidation/fresh paint situation from removing my emblems...
updated list, and bump to the top. Don't forget to put down if you need dents removed, scraches, or both.
Count me in also..I just noticed that I have 2 small dents on my right front qp. It looks like a shopping cart possibly. Mark
updated list. As far as the price goes, I think for small (golf ball size) dents, it'll probably be around 20-30. I'm not sure exactly how much paint repair will be, since everything depends on the size and location of the dents and scratches. But trust me, this will be WAAAAAY cheaper than any repair shop will quote you.
updated list. I talked to jeff this morning, it looks like the location will most likely be at SOG or a parking around there. It will be on a first come first serve basis.
Steve, I think people are waiting for date and cost so they know what it ranges and when this will happen incase they can or cannot make it. Thanks for bumping it anyway! =)
hey everyone, I updated the thread with the pricing and the final date. The locations will be at SOG or some parking lot very close to there. Let me know if you think the price or date is not satisfactory.
how good are your negotiating skills? jk...honestly, i don't know, but definitely lower than $30 if they are just little chips.
I read that. There were no prices for paint chips. :wavey: Thanks GTE...if its lower than 30 for maybe a small batch of chips count me in. My mother is asian, so she taught me all her negotiating skills lol . Ill be able to walk away with a fully repainted car for free hahaha
i got a door bump in a parking lot on my right front fender, 1" in diameter pretty much on the crease, someone was saying those are hard to get out because they're on the metal crease, more $$$?
