Big thanks to Shane and his dad for helping us setup yet another meet at Road Atlanta. To purchase tickets, you need to call Jacqueline at 770-967-6143 and tell her you are with the WRXatlanta club. All tickets across the board for spectating are 15% off. The WRXatlanta corral has been set up for 20 cars for all 3 days. Here is what you need to do if you want to park in the corral: Purchase your tickets for entry by calling Jacqueline. These need to be picked up at Will Call. Paypal $12 to events@wrxatlanta.com (with your screen name in the notes and full name if it differs from what shows up as the sender) or cash directly to me or Alex. Those in the corral will also receive a $12 food coupon and a $25 infield parking permit. Since the corral has space for only 20 cars, not everyone will be able to park inside. People can hold spots on a first come first serve basis by sending in $12. After 20 spots are full, all others will not be able to park in the corral and will also need to purchase a $25 infield parking permit if they desire to bring their car infield. Note: Overnight camping is not allowed in the corral area. All those planning on camping will have to do so in designated camping areas. You can find more information about the Petit Le Mans event by clicking here. head count for those who have paid: 06SilverBullet Alex andy251203 bluedestiny CHEMSOLDIER27 clemsonscooby Dellwin Demo24 DeweyWRX GPJamesMVT hall lostinthewoods miloman pEd rexrocker ShaneSti After trying to settle the infield parking pass situation with road atlanta, here's the best solution we managed to come up with. This only applies to those who are registered to park in the corral: Those who have received parking passes in the mail: This is the parking pass you will use to enter Road Atlanta. You should have a refund of $25 by now. You will not receive an extra parking pass from me. Those who have not received a parking pass in the mail: I have parking passes for you. For those showing up on Saturday: I am going to caravan with a group early Saturday morning. If you make it to the caravan, you can collect your parking pass from me. The remaining parking passes will be left at Will Call in an envelope with your name on it. This way, those who show up late will have parking passes waiting for them. For those showing up before Saturday: You will need to coordinate a time to meet with me and pick up your parking passes. Please send me a PM and we could work something out. I would rather not mail it out since there is no guarantee that it will reach you in time. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
I am in. Hey, I know we talked about this a long time ago, but how about all chipping in and renting an RV if it is feasible?
Depending on the final cost of this extravaganza, I'm in...I've never been and heard it was a lot of fun...
Count me in!!! This is soooo much fun. Nothing like waking up in the morning to the sounds and smells or race cars. I'd be good to go in for an RV as well. I'm a little tired of camping in a tent.
Hey, count me in. I've been to Petit and Grand Prix of Atlanta in 05 and it was a blast. You'll love being able to get up close to the cars before the race! Yea, it does cost a good $45 for race day only (in advance), but it's totally worth it.
theres some more info here. looks like a 2 day ticket is 65. might be interested myself. http://www.roadatlanta.com/events.l...sponse=eventdetail.lasso&-recordID=10&-search
im considering getting the 2 day ticket myself... speed world challenge is on friday anyways, i need definite answers... if we're going through the trouble of getting VIP parking, i need to know who is in for sure
so the main deal is Saturday PM untill Sunday right?....the rest is just other classes and qualifying..etc...So if we do this, what days are we gonna go for in the Wed-Sun schedule?
Will we have VIP parking for both days? I plan on camping Friday night, so if VIP is for both days, count me in as well.
I am planning on going this year. I live SOO close, but previous years I'v always had something I had to do that weekend So unless something drastic happens, count me in! For those that have gone before. Do you camp out in your car or just stay up the whole time? I may just drive home if I get too tired.
uh, what about parking for the Wed. & Thu. ???? I normally go out there on Thursday and stay through Sat. night.
Let me discuss further details with my father since he is the one that is going to deal w/ Road ATL as far as getting this all set up. More info to come. I appreciate everyone's patience.
You camp out in the grass area. Its not really a car camp, but they have designated zones for tent camping. Its on the other side of the horseshoe. When you are coming in go straight instead of making a left to go over the bridge. If you look at the map it will give you a better idea.
the race is on saturday and lasts most of the day... there's nothing on sunday... click here for the event schedule
Just did some quick checking and we can rent an RV that sleeps 8 for about $629 for 3 days, plus a $500 deposit.
cool thanks Milo...the event schedule that i saw must have been out dated...definitely missleading...this one is more clear..
Didn't realize there is different parking costs for RVs. Oh well, just an idea. Would have been cool to be up there in style, partying on the roof of the RV, and when we start baking in the sun, go sit on a nice couch in an air conditioned RV. Will still be fun regardless.
Quick question...how much do we need to pay for the VIP lot? I may go with my dad and i'm aware it's $45 bucks for a 1 day ticket but i don't quite see how the parking works
What exactly does the vip lot entail. Are we going to have a WRX corral like the Corvette one, or is it just a generic lot that you pay extra. Also, will I be able to park there if I only come Saturday. Me and a friend are planning on going, it would just be nice if I got to park with fellow enthusiasts. I haven't been in a few years, so I'm really looking forward to it.
yo, in like flinn, whoever he is.... and i think, my pops is coming to town to catch the race. the race is from saturday 10am-10-pm. the parking is just a coral like the vets and 911s. VIP is more just being able to park together and it's a great to just meet up. no worries about door dings. camping is in restricted areas. they are marked very well. it's best to camp sat-sun, sleep off the drunk you get drinking in the sun all day. after the race sat night, everyone is allowed in the padocks to see the banged up cars and the pirrelli chicks. they will sign anything you want , like a ball cap.... just after the race is over and before the trophies are given out, they have a fantastic fireworks show. so those who were there for the photoshot, try and be on that hill that overlooks the start/finish line for the best view. it's where the vets will be parked. and you'll see some hot ones! i thinks that's it. oh, $45 per person for saturday and about $10 to driving into the infield. there might be a camping fee as well. i don't remember. 2 people in a car is only $5 a person to park. bring sunscreen, food and lots to drink. it gets HOT. also, camping chairs you can carry. the last time i sat in 2 differrent fireant hills.
WHHHAAAAAHHHHH???? i've been on a tour of the assembly line for my 30th. so freakin' awesome. i was there when you all had the crashed diablo in the back of the warehouse. were you building them then?
I don;t build to street cars, just the race cars. www.elanmotorsports.com We just finished designing and building the first 2007 Champ Car, it is currently testing at Sebring
Thats awesome! I was reading some stuff elsewhere about it testing down there. Knew it was built nearby, but had no idea where.
We're based in Braselton, not far from Chateau Elan. Its on hwy 124 next door to the Mayfield factory. We build the Panoz Esperante 'GTLM', 2007 Champ Car, used to make the IRL cars (discontinued this year), Star Mazda, IMSA Lites, and Formula Ford. We are also working on a contract with Skip Barbour Racing School to make an exclusive open wheel car for them. All chassis are monocoque carbon fiber, excluding the formula ford.
sorry... done now if i missed anyone else, please let me know... once again, we need to know how many people are DEFINITELY going
Yes we did, thank you! We actually had a congrats party last Friday at Chateau Elan. This was the first time since the race that big daddy Don Panoz was in town.
add superdude. probably bringing mom and pops. they'll love seeing all our cars parked together. more folks need to bring the passioN. ***SIGN UP, YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO!*** GPJamesMVT, bring the win home baby! We'll all be pulling for ya.
If u guys have not bought tickets yet, then please wait. We are trying to set this whole thing up with RA and hopefully it will get done early next week. Once we get everything set up, there will probably be discounted admissions for WRXatlanta members.
