Why wouldn't it be AWD? I don't think Subaru would release a non AWD vehicle in the US considering their current marketing.

The successful roadsters on the market today are by and large light weight vehicles. Adding the wieght of an AWD tranny would mean handling will suffer, not something you look for in a roadster. Usually the only thing that overcomes poorer handling in a heavier car is more money on the sticker. Not saying it has to be that way, its just seems to be the norm in the car industry. I hope they can find a nice compromise.

If I wanted an Alfa, I would buy one....Really not liking where Subaru is going in the future. Looks like I'll have to get a used 05' STI in a couple years when I can afford it...

Well, the grill doesn't look as bad in real life. It was on the B11S concept: http://www.seriouswheels.com/top-2003-Subaru-B11S-Concept.htm I've been saying for years that Subaru needs to replace the SVX for lack of a roadster or coupe. The 2.5RS coupe was the last coupe they made. Incidentally, the SVX came in both FWD and AWD options in the 90's. The front wheel was to keep cost down (Subaru went to all AWD in 1987). Back to the B11S, it is 3.0L, twin turbo, 400bhp, 400ftlb. Sweet car, i'd like to see it in production. Perhaps the roadster is the first step? The winged grill is hideous in concept art but toned down when it comes to actual creation. I'm actually mor concerned about what looks like a minivan in those pictures.... But I guess if they're going to branch out, they shoudl do it in all directions.
