Anyone had their front bumper repainted lately. A minivan passed up a parking spot then decided to back up to get the spot. I stopped and tried to get in reverse, but it was too late. Anyways, doesn't look like any structure damage, so we agreed she would just pay to repaint it. Anyways, anyone have this done before and know how much it should cost? What a week!!!!

In case anyone was wondering, the cheapest I found was actually at Classic Collision, which, paradoxically, was the nicest looking place I went. They want 368 to sand, color match and repaint the front bumper. They do offer a life time warranty on the paint too. I just have to get the info to the woman that hit me. Hope she is an honest person...

I did ask, around $200, don't know about a group thing. Gwinnett collision was $212, as long as I did it at the same time as the fender...

When it comes to painting just make sure you dont go cheap...it is worth while to get a great job done. That's my $.02 worth of everything.

This may or may not be applicable, but when I got my old Honda's bumper repainted and sanded it was like $350 do your number seems pretty comparable. I'd be in on the sideskirts if we get a group together. Also, it would be nice to get the mirrors colormatched too... MY04 and earlier have some black around the mirrors that looks better blue (like on MY05). Maybe we could get that thrown in with the sideskirts?

So learned a great lesson today: Call the police and file a report every single f'ing time no matter how minor the damage! The husband called me back today, he was saying that his wife wasn't in her right mind and after she had time to think about it, she thinks I hit her. He also says that since I didn't give her my name and number right then, that he called and filed a police report for hit and run. The crux of it is we stood there and talked for at least 3-4 minutes, she nodded or agreed to everything I said. I even sat in my car for an extra 30 seconds to right down her plate number. Anyways, to top everything off, this guy tells me he was a GSP for 28 years and he "knows the law." Well, I also know people who know the law, specifically, the legal service I pay a monthly fee to at work. They say its BS and if he in fact did try to file a report it would be a false report since the wife never asked me for info, it happened on private property and I have called the guy twice since it happened. I also worked at Fulton County for two years and called down there and was told basically the same thing. If this guys filed a report, he could be in big trouble. Anyways, even though she hit me, since we didn't do a police report and there are no witnessess who were interviewed, I will most likely have to pay for my own damage. There are video cameras in the parking garage, but the video is porbaby already gone. I'll wil call and talk to the operations manager at hospital security tomorrow just to check...what a f'ing week.....

Its always best to have the police make a report because then there is no hearsay when it comes to who's fault it was.

Well talked to Fulton County P.D., they have no hit and run reports from that day, so it looks like this guy is a major liar. Still trying to get the video fromt he hospital. They are supposed to check for me today and let me know! Keep your fingers crossed...

Odds are, your insurance will not care about the police report, most insurance co's dont give a shit about them.

Odds are, at most, his insurance will just pay for your dmg, or you may have to just cut a loss and have our insurance pay for yours, and theirs pay for hers.

Having just filed a claim some 2 hours ago, the nsurance will conduct it's own investigation to who was at fault which will determine whether or not your rates are affected. A police report will greatly aid in this. Mine, knowing the other driver is at fault from the police report basicallly guarantees that my rates do not change. If you file and they cannot determine who is at fault, then your rates may be affected. My advice is this: If the cost is less than your deductable and you cannot determine who is at fault, do not file. The reason for this is that you'll still have to pay the amount up to the deductable and your rates will go up. If they can determine that she was at fault then go ahead, file, and get her insurance to pay for it. Good luck with getting that video from the hospital, hopefully it's still on file somewhere.
