Well I think i am gonna chance it with my car. it seems to be holding up fine, just annoying the hell outta me. gotta check some more things out tomorrow (i think the power steering pump is acting up or the belt needs to be tightened), but i'll more than likely be driving since we aren't gonna get crazy.
Yeah, we just do it in reverse though... When we do 'runs' I'd rather go up the mountain instead of down since you gain a lot more speed going down. We just go for the twisties, not the speed
yeah, hill climbs are much more fun than downhill runs or at least imo. Hill climbs you're on the gas more, you get to here more of that beautiful boxer rumble. Downhill you're basically on the brakes the whole time.
I'm really looking forward to this now. So unless tonight just gets wild for some reason, I imagine I'll be making it.

Have fun up there 2day. (I did a rally with the BMW club yesterday, taking that same route, plus a bunch of other backroads before hitting the basic mt area). Not much traffic at all (and we didnt start the rally till 130pm @ the outlet mall area)....... minimal motorcycle and bike traffic. Rt180 had the small pebbles but only down the center of the lanes, so, if you hang straight its all clean and clear.

That was awesome... We ended up with something like 16 cars. WRX's, STI's, an rx-7, miata, 350z, camaro, GTO, mr2, 3000GT, A4, .....nice guys, nice. That's was a hell of alot of fun.

It was awesome. Recommend rear sway bar for all wrx. Just drive it around a little before you go up to mountains.
it was nice to test out my tires up there. apparently they are teh troof. no squeeling whatsoever. ha, i got home and blew 450 bucks on a Whiteline 24mm rear sway, alloy endlinks, rear strut bar and h-brace for next time. can anyone say install day?!
I will make the trip up next time. Devon (red evo)and I are good friends. He tried to get me to come up but it just didnt work out. Let me know when and I'll be there.
