Update: Its breathin fire. Finished it at 8:30 pm Here's the blown motor, cylinder 4 spun a bearing. New 2.5L Motor swaps get messy, side by side shot. Farewell 2.0 Heads, cams, and timing belt on. About to drop it in. Hooked everything up, topped off fluids, about to fire it up right here. And it runs. Total down time less than two working days. My brother drove it home on it's maiden voyage. I took it for a quick spin.. :coold: cant rip it too hard for the first 1000 miles tho. Let me know if youve got any questions. -Jon ps - that marker light works now.

My brother has put just about 1000 miles on it for break in so he's probably gettin Ecutek here in the next couple of weeks. I'll try to keep everyone posted. -Jon
:eek3: my car is minorly sick. I lost boost pressure. I was running 15.1psi ans now I have to be driving in cool air to barely hit 13.5psi. SoG said t's fine but my timing is 11 and should be 16 so my car is not happy. I just changed my uppipe and she got some power but still boost is alittle weak. I live in snellville and travel to work in Norcross every morning. I'm a new rex owner. I went from a 380HP jeep wrangler to a turbo Impreza...jeep only got 12 miles to the gallon. I did the engine drop in the jeep (350 4bolt main bored 40 over, many other thangs totoling my life savings Really got tired of it and wanted handling and performance. My roommate talked me into a 2003 WRX, I got it with 70,200 miles last year for $13,300. No mods at all. My changes: Cobb Accessport v2 TurboXs Up-Pipe ...list is short sorry. Running stock is fine, I got a CEL for my heater in the O2 sensor so I replaced it and went to stage 1 that same time I changed it and WOW it ran awsome...for 2 whole days :squint: I had white caked on the old O2 and still the new one has some white. I figured lean and needs some tuneup. Changed fuel filter, pcv, cleaned air filter (k&N), NGK Iridiums replaced, up-pipe replaced, sprayed carb cleaner on hoses and IC for leaks. Car ran 11 on timing before up-pipe which I did 2 days ago. It's got some balls back but I still lack the boost. I see some mechanics familiar with WRX's and I wonder if I can get suggestions or help. I need to replace the downpipe soon. I had white junk in my tailpipe awhile ago after I changed the O2 sensor but it's cleared away now. Maybe I need the car just to learn a little more. I did the 2500rpm and 2-3psi of boost for 20 seconds and I got instant 14psi but went down a little again. My jeep was just TBI on no turbo. I'm new to turbos Thanks! -Eric
Don't go with the Ir plugs, you are just wasting your money. The Pt and Ir plugs are just made for longevity. For performance, you want plain old Cu.
Dynoed safely at 250 whp with stock wrx injectors, fuel pump and turbo. Not too bad but expected a little bit more out of it.
Definitely needs more fuel and air. Did you dyno it before the swap (and engine failure)? It would be interesting to know exactly what just an extra .5 liters gets you in whp.
Bought the car blown up, so no before numbers but kingwrex has about the same car - an 02 with a tbe and put down 190 to the wheels if I remember right. The only other things this car has is a front mount, short ram, the up-pipe and now ecutek.
