I'm up in gainesville and was wondering if anybody has had their fenders rolled at a shop somewhat near here with good results.
There is another thread that was just started a couple of days ago about this same exact question. Found it:http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=11521&highlight=fender+rolling
thanks. I did a search and found that one along with a few others, but of course everything seems to be down in Atl. I was just hoping for something closer, since most places arent open on weekends or late afternoon weekdays. I may just try removing the plastic edge liner and hope for the best if all else fails. I only got rubbage once my tires heated up, though I am only running a 235 and would like to go to a 255 eventually.
What 235 are you running? Hoosiers, because I know they come big. I had rubbing issues with my 245 hoosier 16 on my 03 WRX, but I just cut the inside lip of the fender out with an angle grinder. It was really easy and only took about an hour total, including the sanding.
Like this http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/vbpicgallery.php?do=view&g=47. If you were talking to me... I will be at the dyno day if anybody wants to see how I cut the fenders for fitment.
the tires are RA1's, but the RCE springs I am running are a bit low. The rates are great, just a tad too low. I'm going to call gwinnet collision and try to have it done there. GPJames - my car is a white bugeye sedan, street wheels are steel grey rota attacks. Sometimes I've got a roof rack on with a kayak on top.
Have you considered doing it yourself? I bet there are some others that would want to do it also and you could split the price of renting the equipment. http://www.rollyourfender.com/ Andy
I posted one of the other threads about this. Im off of Exit 12 on 400. Here are a couple of pics of my fender roller...
I ended up bringing it to Marty at Gwinnet Collision. Unfortunately the paint ended up cracking, although now I have plenty of clearance. He did touch it up though and is only noticeable on close inspection. Price wasn't too bad either. Very nice folks over at Gwinnett.
