A few of you might have heard why i havent had my car for a month and 5 days now. I plowed out into a curb and bent a control arm back on january 26th. Sent it over to progressive because my wheels were bent up a bit. I call them up every 4 business days or so for an update and get the run around for the most part. Anyway, 4 days later i get a call from the estimator. The control arm was fixed easy, but they put down OEM wheels on the sheet, do you want aftermarket? They told me to get back with the body shop and tell them which wheels &tires to order, so i just told them the same wheels, with falken fk452's in 225/45/17 to replace the old RT-215 sports. 2 weeks later, after i get the run around by every person at that shop and the claims service they finally let me know. "Oh, the wheels came in 2 days ago from rota USA because we had to special order them, but they were the wrong color, so we sent them back" I'm fuming at the mouth now. They tell me to shop for another set of wheels, i asked for OZ ultraleggeras from tirerack. A week later, they call me, "we got 2 wheels in, the other 2 are taking really long to ship", alright, assholes, just tell me when i can take it back, i dont care. Wednsday, i get the call of justice, it's ready. My friend drops me off in marietta and leaves. I talk with the guys and they bring it out, nice wheels,wait...those....those tires look huge....*closeup* Falken Ziex 512s, 245/45/17!!!! WTF!!!!!! They ordered the wrong tires from the beginning, good luck trying to fit those things on the 7.5 inch wide rims i had ordered at first! So, they give me a free rental at least, i'm cruising in my corrolla, hoping they dont mess up again.
Sounds like more of a problem with the body shop than Progressive. I have heard bad stories about Progressive over the years but they have always given me stellar service so I stay with them. They are also the cheapest insurance by far for me.
Hey Effrem, are you in the insurance industry now?. I thought that you were working at a body shop?. Which carrier do you work for?. Mark
Or Nationwide. I was royally screwed by them. Consider yourself lucky that it is just a problem with the rims.
My son was on a MtRide with his NewBeetle (2001 1.8T Yellow Concept) about 2+ years ago and at one stop, one of others smacked him in the back, and he then hit the car in front. Very minor damage to front and rear bumpers. The person that caused the accident had Progressive as the carrier. We wanted it to goto ClassicCollision in Alpharetta, they decided differently and numerous times let me know that their place was great. I go to get the car, and see it.......my anger was a 20 on a level of 1-10. The color match was not even close, I mean way way way off. (And they looked right at me and said it looked fine). I was probably seconds away from being reported the authorities I was that mad. Finally I had them re-do it, at the original place (Classic) I wanted the 1st time, and the work was excellent! (They even sprayed some test panels for me with the clear applied to sff if I liked the match) Their service is horrible, their agents dont return calls.................. they suck-wind.
+1 I had the same problem except after they had it for 4 months they forgot to tighten down the skid plate and 10 miles down the road later...:wtc:
