The official date of the next WRXAtlanta.com and Siegel Racing Open Track Day (WASROTD) is Friday, May 25th. I can give 10 days from now for the first 10 guys on that list to get me deposits, and then I'll open it up to the next people on the list to get me deposits. The track is also available (and probably going to be rented by me) on Thursdays April 12th and/or 26th. Please post here if you would like to go on the April 12th and/or 26th date. If you are going to paypal the deposit, please send $104 to siegelracing@hotmail.com SS
Alright guys, I think this will be better for everybody... Let's make it a bigger event; if we go ahead and get the insurance we can do 20 people, 5 on track at a time. There will still be WAY more time than anybody will want to run, and this will be the race-track debut of the So. Fla Autosports 800 horsepower Time Attack STi. So, there is room for 3 more. It will still be $200 per person (plus $5 for lunch). I'm going to try to get the cost of the day to $3k, plus the $1k additional insurance, should cover us. I do NOT want more than 5 people on track at a time, and I think 4 groups should be good. This should make for WAY more time available than people will actually want to run. Even with 20 drivers there will probably rarely be more than 3 cars out, and everybody will have more time available to them then they will want to run. SS
Pre-emptively calling dibs on a spot although I can't say for sure that I'll be able to go. This will definitely be a good excuse to get some new tires though.
I actually just found out my brother's graduation is on the 25th so...I may push for an April date. Still working out logistics for myself.
It is $200 for the day, plus $5 if you want BBQ. If you are paypalling please add 4%, so $104 for the deposit or $208 for the day. The "dibs" list holds until 3/31. On 3/31 it becomes first with deposit TO me, first on the final list. So for all the people that didn't get on there, if there aren't 20 "I've sent my deposits" on here by 3/31, if you send it in before anybody else, you're in SS
Yeah I'll go ahead and sign up. I should be heading over to SoG with snarkbreeder sometime this weekend.
Count me in, I'm sending my payment now. This will be my first track event. I'm pretty much stock with new RE01R's. Do I need track tires? Any suggestions for a new soobie owner? Oh, this is for May 25th right? What about the April dates?
Alex are we set for May 25th? I can't do the second April date and the first one conflicts with a triathalon event and would be a tough choice for me. I've already paid the deposit and I hope it's for 5/25!! dean - thanks But I hear road shoes get greasy after a few hard laps?
idk i got a pm from Alex asking if the 26th of April would be okay also i thought theres more than one date to go to it
My apologies for all the PMs, I had a scheduling issue and I have since worked around it. We're a go for 5/25 -- May 25th I'll just have to leave around 2 or 3 to get back to Atlanta in time.
Glad I held off on putting my deposit down. You can remove me from the list as I will be out of town for work on the 25th...
Is this the track? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talladega_Gran_Prix_Raceway http://www.tgprace.com/ http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=...059&spn=0.010664,0.011008&t=k&om=1&iwloc=addr
Quick question, are we going clockwise or counter clockwise? Also, is the $205 per car? My brother is coming along and we'll be driving down in one car. Can he have a go in my car?
Right now I believe I have 7 deposits. Please consider this day now open to first 20 to me with $$$ SS
scott can you confirm the deposits? Either PM/email or a list here? My brother and I have sent it payments
I've got: 1. Chang $100 paypal 2. Dacula $205 check 3. Snark $100 cash 4. Darkbath $100 cash 5. Bryan $200 paypal 6. Chow $100 paypal 7. Jason Chow $200 paypal At this point this might be better as a standard 10 person open track day. That saves the money for the ambulance and the extra insurance. Either 10 or 20 can be done for the $200, but if one person dropped out of the 20 person day it wouldn't pay for itself... I'll chat with Alex about it and see if we just want another 10 person day some other time. SS
so if 20 people sign up there wouldn't be an ambulance? just curious how much does the insurance cover? I suppose standard auto insurance doesn't cover what we do on the track
Considering it's on a weekday, I'm not going to know if I can make it until closer to the day. I can't take a personal day if I'm covered up with work. I'd say it 50/50. So if it becomes a 10 person day and I get booted, ohwell. Maybe next time it will be on a weekend.
If there are 20 people there HAS to be an ambulance. If there are only 10, then I don't need an ambulance. The Weekends are booked for MONTHS... The next Saturday is August 4th... SS
