Well Subaru had me with the Scrambler, they just never produced it. Sooooo, I picked up my 07 Miata (MX-5 now???). I'll attach a few pics. While its still waaaay underpowered, there are several FI solutions in the pipe and hopefully one of them will meet my needs. I enjoyed the REX alot, but just craved something lighter and convertible the whole time I owned it. Anyways, just wanted to share...
nice! I have been wanting to get one of those for a while, considering a sport model like that one -- Brian
Those things are fun as hell in turns! I swapped cars with a buddy a few months back and he had a miata... Its a neat car.
IMHO, the 5 speed is head and shoulders better than the 6. It feels nicer to shift, and the gearing is much better, at least for my driving style. There are three things missing from the sport that I would have liked, 1) the LSD, though an aftermarket unit will be better for the money, 2) the rear speakers, though again aftermarket rear speakers will be nicer for the money and 3) the HID's, though its mostly just bling...
So did you have to buy a skirt or did Mazda supply one? Nice car though... considered one in the past but it was just missing a couple seats.
Actually, I am so well endowed skirts don't fit...If you look close you can see the baby seat comfortably strapped down in the front...
that was my first sports car and i drove it for almost 10yrs... they handle better than most cars out there and have fantastic balance and attitude in the corners. you'll like it a lot, go to flyinmiata.com, racingbeat, and mazmart, they've got all kinds of cool shit. there was a company called brainstorm products that (back then) was doing incredible aftermarket stuff-now go get yourself a damn turbo on that thing!
Very nice. I got to beat up on one of those (well an 06) at zoom-zoom live a couple of years ago. They definitely feel great in the turns. Now slap a super charger on that thing!
you should get the Mazda MS-R package stuff LSD, stiffer springs, swaybars, bracing, etc. Pics: http://forum.miata.net/vb/showthread.php?t=236811 Join Mazdamotorsports.com and you get good deals on parts. -- Brian
I think that will be for a little later on down the line when this car is no longer my daily driver. I am not planning on running in C-Stock anyway. And yes, I would like to join the MAzadamotorsports site...
Congrats Scott...Very Nice Ride....I may be getting into something different myself in the near future...possibly a Fahrenheit GTI or an R32. Mark
Nice man. I guess you will be competing with a totally new group at the autoX now Congrats on the purchase
Congrats man, my pops has the one with the 6-speed and lsd and bilstein shocks. YOu have to shift a ton! I know you'll have alot of fun.
beautiful car scott, now if only i got the kind of responce from my new car purchase that would be great
I thought about a MX-5 when I bought the 8. I just wanted a little more space(backseat) and headroom. I only had about a half inch of space in the MX-5 and almost 2" in the 8. They are nice. Jackson Racing has a supercharger in the works. Thats who I would go with. They are very fast in the corners. I mean stock STi quick. The reason they are in C stock is because of the lack of HP and torque. They make my 8 seem like a boat.
Yep, this is the third Miata I owned, and short of a Lotus, there isn't another car that has brought smiles to my face the way the Miatas have. I am leaning toward a SOT S/C if they ever bring one to market. I like the turbos, but in a small car like the Miata, I don't need the huge top end...
Nice. I actually test drove the MazdaSpeed Miata before I bought the WRX and I had a blast driving that thing. It was so tail happy and just hugged the curves so well for a RWD car from the factory. Came close to getting it but the bucktooth bunny rabbit look killed it for me.
At the last I heard, Flyin Miata bought out the miata portion of SOT, so hopefully they will get a new kit developed sometime in the future. Still like the old pics -- Brian
