When I changed my lines i put in valvoline synthetic DOT 3 fluid. Since then my brakes have felt wierd and squishy. before i go to the dealership for a brake bleed from them, am i a dumbass and put in the wrong fluid. I just got whatever said DOT 3 at the autozone.

Did you bleed the system when you swapped the lines? If not, you might have air trapped in there which would certainly explain the squishy pedal.

    Not sure about fluid compatibility.

the valvoline DOT3 synthetic is FULLY compatible with ANY other DOT3 or DOT4 fluid.

The only reason to have a squishy pedal after line install is if you had air still in the system.

sweet i was 99% sure there was air in the system...i just didn't want to drop 100 plus dollars on a brake bleed only to find out i really screwed something up. glad to hear I only halfway suck and can't bleed my brakes right. :)
