under "(note that DOT5 is synthetic and not appropriate for use on most cars with ABS)" on the first post, shouldn't it be silicon and not "synthetic"? I thought pretty much all brake fluid is synthetic (glycol based) and was just used as a marketing term?
Any interest in my spot for this event? My meth pump is leaking and I do not think I will have enough time to get it replaced and tuned before the event. let me know asap.
I'd rather not have to tow my shit home from Tally. There will be plenty other time to run her. I am a bit excited for the potential...289wheel with a leaky pump and 16psi when we stopped tuning. 50 bucks for my spot
Yes, any make and model is allowed. However, the rule for eligibility that the committee has agreed upon is that the participant must be a club member before the event has been announced. 4sevens: Is your brother a member of any of the participating clubs?
Mike I agree it should not. They still do not have my pads in either, so next week I would have to get pads rotors, fluid, meth pump, and tires all put on and before Thursday so i can get tuned. I hope it happens as I want to do this badly. Matt you can drive my car a few laps if the above can happen.
All that should take about 6 hours to do if the parts get in. Good thing there are 165 hours until the event.
ANNOUNCEMENT: We have had a few participants inquire about refunds since they might not be able to attend the event. The other clubs organizing this event have had similar requests brought to them. However, the event has already been paid for. We are not making a profit. In fact, each organizing club has already put money out of pocket to cover remaining balances. Hence, unfortunately, we will not be able to offer refunds. We will try to find people to fill your spots. However, it would be best if you can find replacements. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. If you have any questions, feel free to PM either Alex or myself.
Well one way or another I will go, got alot to get done but worst case is a leaky pump @ 16psi....Still putting down close to 300 though.
If all else fails, I've got a buddy that said I can borrow his twin turbo C6...that should make things interesting.
It looks like I will be taking a shot at racing that actually requires turning. See you out there next Sunday.
Club Wars Hey Guys, J Man from Redline Auto Club here. I will be contacting all of you very soon to inform you of the Track Schedule, Assignments and so forth. I wanted to personally thank all of you for participating and we could not of done this with out your contributions. We hope that this will be the first of many inner club competitions that become a Tradition for more Clubs to be a part of. Keep an eye out for Post and Private Messages. J Man Event Controller and your Humble Servant.
You must have forgotten :rofl::rofl: Anyone have a recommendation for a shop to install my fsb and brake bleeding?
I am in if my meth pump comes in but now Steve is not returning my emails. Oh well last chance one more failure and I am selling the SMC kit.
I wouldn't mind having someone familiar with the track ride along. I do have some track time at Road Atlanta and quite a few auto-x its just that lately I have been drag racing. Mainly due to cost. Track days cost alot more and the wear and tear is much higher than drag racing. edit: I just saw your post that your are not going to make it. Congrats on the anniversary
Morning Sessions Matt we would love to see you come. The Morning sessions do not count for anything except to practice. Be sure to let me know if you are coming ahead of time. J Man
What is the track at little tally like? How open is the spectator area? Is there any room for a toddler to run around safely (supervised of course...)?
There is enough spectator room. Nice thing is that from the spectator area, you can see the entire track. Obviously you can not go into the hot pits. I would recommend you bring some folding chairs. Shouldn't be a problem for toddlers either. Not sure about climate control in the spectator area though.
Greetings from the Comfort Inn in Oxford, Al. Here's an update to concern ALL spectators As it stands, if you are coming to watch the event you must arrive before any hot lap sessions begin OR arrive during lunch time. You may not cross the track during a hot session. Someone will be posted at the main gate to remind you of this. If there is enough time in between sessions, 1 or 2 vehicles may be permitted to cross. As a general rule though, if you would like to watch this event please arrive before 7:30AM CST OR between 11AM and 12PM CST (during lunch). See ya out there
I just finished up my FSB install, xp12/xp10's, bled brakes, chg oil. Test drove, cleaned up and hitting the sack! See you guys/gals there bright and early!
