Saw you coming down fourth street past the architecture building around 3 PM today. It actually looks pretty nice in person!
That is my fraternity brother! Poor guy got a speeding ticket in it yesterday. He bought it at SOG too...
Nice! Yeah, he had a forester before the new WRX, so I think he enjoying the extra power. Apparently the cop asked him if he had just bought it (it still has temp tags on it). The cop then told him he had "learn to respect the car."
I saw it today at Arby's. I wasnt sure who owned it in the restaurant but I wanted to go up and ask them about it.
naw dude, when he took me out on the highway with it, he was being a total ricer with it,speeding 90+ on I-75 in the accel. lane during rush hour and switching lanes fast. He needed to slow down and stop weaving through traffic.
you're not supposed to do this? the one time I thought about ricing I was on 85N about 1am for some reason and two CRX's sped by me on either side, then practically locked their breaks up to slow down and match my speed on either side... I thought about droppin to 3rd and leaving 'em but instead I kept goin 70 and hopefully they felt retarded. They kept looking over at me to see if I'd do something until they got bored and left. Honestly the most retarded thing i've ever seen happen in my 21 years, and I've known some stupid people.
dude you should get him to bring it to the subie challenge; I want to see how the 08 does on the autox course. Also maybe it will get him to not be such a doof on the road.... Ktown, you are describing every time I ride up 85N in my STI period.... silly ricers
That was me The Blue 08 is my car. Oh and hi guys, I'm finally on. It's a pretty wonderful car. I like it a bit more than the older ones I've driven. It seems to ride much more gently at highway speeds but responds just as it should when you approach 7 to 8/10. And yes, it's already gotten me into trouble. I learned on my father's toys, which generally have had much more power, so I found it somewhat ironic that my first horrendous ticket was in a WRX, and not the NSX I learned to drive a stick in. Hey, it was all we had. Hard times, you know. I'm signed up for the Southcentral challenge already. Looks like I'm currently the only 08 signed up. My car will be likely still be (at least mostly) stock and severely lacking to the other entries in the A stock class, as they're all stis, but I look forward to pushing it a bit hard, as that's mostly impossible on the road, my "questionable" driving skills aside. Glad to be part of the group. Cheers.
The only time you've ever been in my car it was close to midnight. Just saying. And as far as slowing down...well, let's not go there. Heh. :wiggle:
Welcome to the boards! (This is Scottie). That new 08 was a great road trip car... plenty of space in the back seat, and the rear windows come a few inches closer to being all the way down! And to be fair you only even gave the petal a good push once or twice in 4 hours... :ddirty:
I think that the Blue is the nicest looking color for the 08's. Were you up around Emory recently? Might have spotted you...
Yeah, I don't really like the silver and the black on the car, but for whatever reason the blue looks amazing on it, which is great since it's kinda like Ferrari red....everyone knows an F355 looks atrocious in anything but red. Now this isn't true of the older models, but I think the new WRX rocks the blue, but loses something in the other colors for sure. And yeah, I drive by emory quite a bit...at least the part of it on Clairmont Road.
Speaking of which I saw you on Clairmont yesterday at 4pm. I was turning left onto 85N and you were heading over towards Sam's Club. But you did not see me. Bastard. And for the record... is not not atrocious. Oh and you only have 40 less horsepower than your dad's NSX. You know, FYI.
How could I miss the Rumble Bee? I'm a dick...sorry. And you're right...it's not atrocious. But have you ever seen the Spa Yellow? It's gag inducing. Aren't you supposed to be working?
You got something against yellow cars? :fawk: And I am working. Very diligently. You didn't see me yesterday because I was behind you and in your blind spot...
Ok guys, here's some proper photos of my 08. We all know what one looks like, but still. The resolution and overall quality are not to my liking as I used a camera other my slr...but better than nothing for now. ovrexposed interior...heh. Right rear suspension. Next time I'll have ramps for more detail hopefully.
Car looks good, I like the paintmatched grill a lot, how hard does it look to pull the mesh out and put your own grill-less mesh in there?
The grill surround and mesh are all one piece, so I think only the whole thing comes out. I'm sure someone who's really good could pull just the mesh, but I doubt your results would be terribly favorable. And the porsche is my dad's. It rules. Hard.
