Well $hit hit the fan yeasterday when i came home found out that house had been borken into. After calling the police and have them make more of a mess of my house. I had to make a list for the police of what had been stolen. So made the list and came up with the total figure and at the momment i felt really sick. They stole just about $30,000 +/- worth of valuables from house. From my xbox360, xbox, game cube, wii, ps2, ps3, all of my TV's, Some bank checks, jewelry that inculded my grandfathers wedding ring, Turn Tables, Mixers, all three of my labtops, and many more. I feel so sick to my stomch right now about this stuff right now. Also come to find out later in the day that a few other houses down the street were hit to and they hurt there animals. My Mother only left the house for an hour and they cleaned me out totaly during that time. Now since that my records were stolen to i have no way of claming that i owned my property. So i really out 30k right now since home owner issurance wont cover it.
Keep fighting it. Insurance companies never say yes to claims... Might even need to contact a lawyer to make them pay. In past deals like this, I have found that pictures of product worked better than receipts. Scan through any old pics you have and look for stuff in the background like TV or such to help you prove your ownership.
That's awful mate, we got broken into over the summer a couple years ago, fucking horrible feeling. Fortunately they fucked up down the line and are now getting raped in prison. Maybe it's for the better that your mum wasn't in the house when they came. If they hurt animals then what's to say they wouldn't have hurt your mum. If necessary get a lawyer to help with the home owners insurance. That's the whole fucking point of owning it for times like this. Work along the line who on the planet keeps the receipts of everything they own. Unrealistic expectations. Don't give up the fight. good luck!
your homeowner's insurance should cover it, even without receipts. can you get prior statements from the bank?
yeah, forget that receipts crap they are giving you. who has receipts from family heirlooms and the like? Don't stop pursueing them. You paid the premiums for the insurance, now they pay for your loss. simple as that.
if only if it was all that easy... there are many cases where people try to con insurance companies... im sure they wanna make sure everything fits in.
dude that totally sux man... I hope you get the insurance to take care of it all....please keep me updated!!
Damn Ryan, sorry to hear about the break in. As everyone keeps saying, pictures are better than reciepts. Most people don't keep reciepts of everything they purchase. Also, as said here, Insurance companies won't just jump to hand you a check, they will fight you on it, in hopes that you just give up, and then they win big time. If necessary, get a lawyer, but they should pay, just don't let them talk you into submission. Good luck and hope everything works out for you in the end.
yea..good ole insurance..oh which reminds me..gota write aetna my $630 check for my health insurance... hell my mom gave me the kidney..i should be giving her the $630!..lol
sorry to hear about this man, there are few things shittier than someone jacking all your stuff in short order. you can use pics, and you can request bank statements, then highlight the purchases that included the items that you photographed, then if the statement line item is not exact, get a printout of the MSRP off a website for the item, then catagorize everything... they can't deny a claim if you have evidence of ownership and financial records backing the claim. good luck, and be persistent.
Definitely see if you can find some photos of some stuff... Fight it - they will eventually cave; you pay the premiums and they need to cover your losses! Good luck but I hope you don't have to get a lawyer - having to go to court to fight for your stuff is annoying as hell! Keep us posted man!
Ryan, I am really sorry to hear about the break-in. Another really good thing that you can do is to engrave your valuables. I hope that everything works out alright for you. Mark
Dude i am so happy right now. Apprently When they stole my xbox 360 they logged in to my XBOX Live Account. How stupid can you be since XBOX Live tracks the IP information of ineternet provider. I have contacted the police and they are following up with XBOX Federal to get the Tracking information. I am so pumped right now... WOOT!!!!!!
keep fighting it bro... what I do is whenever i get something new thats worth anything i take a pic and send it to insurance with a value
holy crap that's the best thing I've ever heard... especially if they hit those other houses on your street and get nailed for all of it.... then nailed in prison! poetic justice bastards!!
