A friend of my wife got carjacked yesterday. The thieves took his wallet and his Outback.

This guy is the salt of the earth. He works for World Relief. He works to ensure that refugees have apartments and clothing when they come here from the Nasty Places. He had an Outback because it was the right combination of fuel efficiency and haulability - he often moves humans one hour and clothing or furniture the next. Now, they've taken his mule.

If anyone gets wind of a surprising used Outback for sale, please let me know.

And, assuming that his car is useless when found (if found), if anyone knows of another Outback for sale, also let me know. I want to get him back in the saddle.

Damn, that sucks, i'm sorry to hear that. What year/color was the outback, and where did this occur? Someone on the boards might see it around town.

Sorry, been away for a while. I don't have specifics on the snatched auto, yet. I'll try to get more info.

The police have found the car. I haven't heard its condition.

Still interested in hearing about used Outbacks. No telling the condition of the recovered car.

wow, so sorry to hear about this. I hope they catch the crooks that did this and give them what they deserve.

Does law enforcement bother to check recovered cars for prints and run them against a database?

It's a needle in a haystack thing, I suspect. Fact is, these guys are either gonna get greased by one of their own, or one may look at what he's stolen and realize that there's more to life than taking.

I feel for the police. There's a lot of junk out there, and we use the police as a buffer.
