Hey everyone that goes to ga. tech, does it matter if you dont pay a parking fine if you dont attend school at tech? I go to SPSU and i know that if you are not a student it doesnt really matter. Just checking, dont want to pay $50 for stupid crap. Thanks
They will send the ticket to a collection agency if you don't pay it after a while, so I would recommend just paying it.
yeah, technically the police on ga tech are city of Atlanta police. and the tickets are under the jurisdiction of city of Atlanta, so really its no different than getting one somewhere else downtown, it just costs less/more depending on the place. pay it. you'll be glad you did. Had a friend get the orange boot one time when we were going to the vortex because of his outstanding ga tech tickets. :lockd:
wow~ scary...... So far, I never really heard about GT using collection agency. Maybe if you have tons of tickets outstanding... Same on booting as well. If it's your first one and your vehicle is not registered on GT system, don't sweat on it too much. Check here as well. Seems like we need another dedicated sub-forum for parking/speeding tickets. lol~
I had one parking ticket on an unregistered vehicle, and they sent it to a collection agency. I would just pay it, and park legally on campus.
my old roommate racked up about ~$300 of UGA parking tickets and laughed about it until his car was towed, impounded, and held until he payed (plus the extra $100 for the tow, lol). I know, unrelated to Ga Tech, but dont let that happen to you.
when i used to go to tech.. i had around 3-4 tickets which i never paid( never had the car regd) ... i still havent paid em..
yeah it says you can appeal the tickets online and pay $10 if the appeal is accepted. i may just try to do that and make up some story. this is stupid
I have a ton of ga tech tickets i have built up over about 3 years. I haven't recieved anything about them so far...i guess we will have to see. I wouldn't worry about it if your not in the Ga tech system
