center diff gone..sti is parked

its been a long time coming and the center diff has pretty much finally went out of the sti..im getting some prices on all kinds of stuff but i think im just gonna let batlgrounds do it..need a new clutch too..a word of advice...dont run different tires..ever haha

 

Dang man, that sucks. Can you rebuild the diff? ANy idea on the cost of fixing that?

 

I think it's a sealed unit.

 

The newer center diffs are sealed. The cost of JUST the active center diff for 6MT is $2500.

 

i think im gonna let batlgrounds do it..they want a little over 3k..parts,labor,and also installing a new stock sti clutch and flywheel..

 

Ditch the DCCD and get a decent aftermarket center diff.

 

know where i can get an aftermarket center diff?i dont think ive ever seen anyone run one but i'd buy one if they had it..

 

I've considered running an aftermarket center diff but you lose a lot of the cool features of the active diff.

 

I had no idea that much damage could happen from a small variation in radius
