Sooo i have had my 05 STi for 2.5 years now and it is sitting in the garage right now with 9900 miles. I went stage 2 and got protuned by SS at approx. 6k miles. Soon afterwards if not as soon as i got tuned my clutch started to slip. it holds decently right now in the lower 3 gears. but trying to go WOT in say 4,5,or 6 it basically slips 2krpm then comes back down and catches again. i ve only launched a few times at an autox and a couple times on the street. anyways is it possible to have them replace the clutch since the car doesnt even have 10k miles yet? i know its modded a putting down more tq then stcok but i thought they were at least good for 350-375 wtq? anyways let me know what you think, i live 5 mins away from SOG so that who i would probably be going to for the work if it could get covered. TIA!

all you can do it take it up their and ask them. most likely not but they may. if they dont they dont. with the car being modded i can tell you right now all warrenties you had are going to be denied. so thats your call.

just FYI from the daughter of the man who will make the ultimate call on your warrenty.

Per my conversation with the DSM last night. If you make any changes to your ECU. you void your power train warranty. He told me its a good thing to do with our cars BUT it does void the warranty so wait until its up. Sorry to give you bad news.

Not covered. Dont even bother taking it in unless you have about $1400 to cover the price of the parts and labor.

They'll pull it apart to 'see if its covered' knowing full well it wont be with the tuning/mods...get it apart, say its not covered (which it is not anyways) then sell you stock parts at WAY over list price and install it at the normal shop labor. Worst part is, you will be FORCED to pay that price as your car will be on a lift in pieces.

It is complete BS but it happens on a daily basis.

Its not like Subaru has that bad of a warranty policy. Mitsu is horrible, your car touches a track. your warranty is gone. Nissan voids it unless you pay for the overpriced Nismo stuff. I know because i have done buildups of all kinds on both. This comming from the guy who exclusively owned DSM's and a Evo before going Subie

No no no...you've got it wrong...Mitsu voids the warranty as you pull off the lot with it.

SUBARU is not BAD...they are REALISTIC. They have a bulletin about it...I posted it on the forums somewhere.
