P38 Lightning found on beach in wales!!

    There was an F-14 tail fin that washed up there some time ago.

    It came from an F-14 that was lost in the Gulf of Mexico. Supposedly the aircraft was recovered...however, the tail fin caught the stream and whamo, it washed up.

    I wish I had found it.

    I love P38s, in fact I think it was one of the first planes with WEP (war emergency power), which used water-methanol injection which I am sure some of you are familiar with. This plane had awesome firepower, 1-20mm cannon and 4-.50caliber machine guns. Aside from the P51 Mustang the P38 is my favorite plane of WWII.
