i have 4 new nitto nt555's on my 05 sti..when i get the car back and properly break it in im gonna hit the track to get some new and better times..last time i went i was runnin the reccomended tire pressure,36lbs..and it was way too much pressure..what would be a good tire pressure to run..they're not the drag radials they're just summer tires

I think the lower the pressure, the more grip you'll have. But running them too low could be bad for your tires.

    Maybe start around 29-30lbs?

I've heard much conflicting advise on this issue... half say run 30 psi for "more grip", half say run 42 so you'll get "a little wheelspin" so you don't bog down.... I don't know...

I prefer the higher tire pressure train of thought.

I'd much rather have wheelspin than have to deal with a broken axles.

I've ran 11's on the WRX tranny and stock block. I ALWAYS have my tire pressures between 34-38. Promote a little tire spin but not too much. Too much grip will kill your lower times due to bogging. Every car is different due to different weights, tires, and power levels.
