I'm going to Gran tourismo on wednesday to get my car aligned. Should I just let them do what they feel is best for my car or should I ask for specific settings? I know toe should = 0, but camber I'm not sure what I should be going for, something in the -1.3-7 range?. I don't autocross so I need something thats good for the street and will not destroy my tires.

Jeff will ask you what your alignment needs are (ie autox track street etc) and he'll make suggestions. I usually follow his suggestions cause Jeff is the man! But then again I just request "as much negative camber as humanly possible".

if you can get 'more' than -0.9 front camber...you'll be doing good. Unless you've got other things going on...like adjustable stuff.

otherwise for street use i recommend:

    0.00 (+/- 0.01) toe front and rear
    Stock rear camber (-1.5ish)
-1.0 to -1.5 front camber (whatever you can get thats even side to side)

I'm set with -0.9 camber in the front and it is much more responsive to steering wheel input....That is as far as I wanted to go being a daily driver...

i was aligned by them back in november right before the suby challenge...

i went with 0 toe all around, stock rear camber and -1.3 up front (maxed out basically).

i thought it would hunt really badly on the highway with no toe but it's really not bad at all. my tires are wearing decently. best of all, the car ran great at the autocross and i didn't kill my outside shoulders on my tires so i know it was making a difference compared to normally. the limits felt alot higher.

GTE is a great facility with great people, i'd recommend them.

just street driving, reasonably aggressive I guess.

It's already been done! Pretty happy with them so I will go again, shame the drive is so far.

Front's aren't cambered too much, I suspect that was to save the tires a bit. When I get some new tires I'll have them adjust it a bit more. Still I can tell a difference and I do like it!

How much camber did you get and what is your tire size? I think if I went anymore than -.9 it would be a bit much

If you run less then 1 degree of negative camber and plan to autox next year you will be eating the edges of your tires.... for the occassional autox you will be fine.

about -1.3 in rear, and around -.6 in front. considering I have some craptastic 205 coopers on 16" rims I'm not too worried. Just means it won't bite quite as hard in front, but theres not much helping on these tires.

I'll get new tires early next year, haven't decided if I want more front or not.

and I have no intentions to autox
