Registration for SCCA Dixie National Tour is open Link to event: http://www.scca.com/event.aspx?hub=3&event=12012 Where are all my "hardcore" autox converts?
no it's a National Tour.... aka a mini national championship! It's really 30% autox and 70% social. Like nationals it's a two day event with two different courses. There is also contingency money on the line via Kumho, Hooiser, Bridgestone, Yokohama, Honda, Mazda and others. edit: also see this thread http://www.wrxatlanta.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17040
From the event website: Event site address: South Georgia Motorsports Park 720 Gil Harbin Industrial Blvd. Valdosta, GA 31601 229-896-7000
The best way to improve is to drive with the best around. Also when you do increase your skill it's better to have these high pressure events already under your belt. Trust me I almost vomited twice at a national event....
I agree but it's a heck of a long way to travel to just get my ass handed to me. The turner field event I will definitely be at.
These don't allow passengers, do they? I'm really wanting to do it but it's hard to justify the cost. NT events are like Regionals, right? 3 runs/day for 2 days? What's it like? I'm tired of commuting so far to get whooped.
No passengers.... listen we can get whooped together! I'm codriving with Jason Collett AKA MR A STOCK NATIONAL CHAMPION (A STANDS FOR AWESOME)..... watch me drive his car ... slower, much slower. Seriously it's about getting your butt kicked, talking to the people that kick your butt, watching other people's butt get kick and having fun together! If you don't want to get fast just wait until you watch Jason or Carpenter or Mike King or Heyward put down a seriously fast run and you think "how the hell did they do that?"..... then you WANT to know.... edit you really think "how the hell did they do that in 3 runs ?!?!?!"
Yeah, I'll probably end up going. It's just a little frustrating driving all the way down there to not even be close. Eh, Rome wasn't built it a day, right.
Exactly...... as obi-wan would say "this is your first step into a larger universe" Seriously if you are in a time crunch the Atlanta Nationa Tour is open for registration as well. It's at AMS!
This thread needs a good bump!! I'll be attending along with Jose in ESP. For all you guys who are complaining about driving from Alpharetta to Valdosta...try driving from Chicago to Valdosta! 14+hrs FTMFW!! I'll be passing through ATL early Thursday to spend the night in my hometown of Macon Thursday night and will be at SGMSP by 11am on Friday to get setup to run the T&T. 17x10 w/ 295s will take some getting used to over my previous 17x7.5 w/ 245s lol We've got 3 registered in ESP right now, so if two more of you guys would like to register we'll have a full class!! I hope to make the AMS event but my sister graduates high school on that Saturday so I'd have to be done by 3rd heat in order to make it to Macon from Hampton in time for her graduation. I'll most likely just be there to spectate...or maybe I'll enter my rental car!!
Actually I'm in Bloomington (3hrs south down 55) but the day I leave I'll be leaving from P&L Motorsports near Midway then stopping at Nukabe for a photo shoot, then back on 57 to head towards TN.
