That won't hold you back... Really the only thing that will stop you, is a felony, or history of violence. Even drugs and all that don't hold you back. I've done my fair share of stuff, but in their eyes its a good thing that you've done it, and stopped on your own. It shows will power and it also gives you some street smarts.
They actually make a lot more money than I thought also... A good friend of mine works in the same county and he's making 75K a year in the special ops unit. And his wife is just on regular patrol making 43K after only 3 years...
