Ive always wondered why everyone else's TMIC has the cute little red piping, from the TMIC to intake manifold, that says STi on it...mine is plain black...why? Is this an 04 thing or did Classic jack mine when they repaired my car?

Stock intercooler piping is plain black rubber.

The STi logo'd red silicone one is an aftermarket (STi) piece. You can buy them through the dealer, SPT part number ST2183066000. They've been available in the US since '02/'03.

Its really to help with the nasty rubber one that will eventually swell from oil being recirculated through the intake tract(Rubber+Oil=Bad) Plus its pretty :)
