I need to get something to help seal an exhaust leak ASAP...Is there anyone in Lawrenceville that can help?
No exhaust gasket and springs to big, the exhaust is in place, but it is essentially running with no exhaust from the cat back...can you say, "Get pulled over loud"...I am gonna go to SOG here in a minute and see if they can help.
Well, the springs will fit on the stock spring bolts. The problem you may have is different hole sizes in the flanges...its possible, i've seen it. What I would recommend you do is get a lock washer, a bolt and a nut and get a flat gasket. Get a brand new gasket, slather it up in delicious copper gasket sealer and then shove it in there. Bolt them down and wipe off the sealer that oozed out. It should seal pretty damn well.
Hmmmm. Ended up being a classic case of if you want something done right. I am sure Drew was just in a hurry. I wasn't paying him to install the exhaust on my car, and he gave me a heck of a deal on the Blitz so, I can't complain. But, the donut exhaust was in place, right where it was supposed to be. When I finally got under the car, the springs and bolts fit right on. Thanks to Siegel for letting me use the upper SOG parking lot to check everything out....It all worked out and the sound with the silencer in is great, if still a bit loud!
So how loud is it? Around .8 Milos? (I suppose that could be the official unit of measurement for Scooby exhausts.)
Hahhahahahahahaha!!! What would the square root of a milo be?? I would say 2/3rds a milo with the silencer in place....
^^^ That's AWESOME. We are SO going to measure exhausts in Milos from now on. Belvn - I actually need to apologize, I didn't realize that you were Belvn... I'm sorry I didn't get to help much, I had both phones ringing off the hooks all day. Glad you got it all taken care of. SS
No biggie. I am sure you have random people sliding through all day long. I would go crazy if my office was open to the public like that. :bigthumb: You have taken care of lots of people on here and we all appreciate it!
I've been doing this for at least a year now...and to be proper, it cannot be in Milos. Think about it, it doesnt have the ring to it. Milinds however, sounds like an actual unit of measure. Guy: Dude, did you hear my exhaust note? It was like .99 Milinds...can you believe it? Girl: uh...that's cool sweety, I still cant hear a word you're saying with your car on. Oh, and while I'm at it, lemme reintroduce the slide ruler we came up with before. Stock-------------------------[|]--------------------------Milo
Well I just finished putting the rex back to stock (thanks to sog's lift) and the exhaust note is -50billion milinds
