Fun in a scary kind of way. Now I definately need something better than all seasons before I hit the track on Feb 18th or I'll spend even more time off track.hnoes:
AND some rimz so you can wrap something on that is wider...considerably wider. If you want you can try mine on for size when you go to TGP that way you will know just how much wider you need to go...Just leave me a little tread.
Mike, find yourself a set of 17x7.5's or 8's and put a takeoff set of re070s on there. Such a huge improvement over all-seasons
Mike I have a set of 18X8 Konig Balants and a set of 225/40/18 RA1's if you are interested. Wheels are stratight but have a few cosmetic flaws. Tires have plenty of tread left. Those are awesome numbers BTW What kind of race fuel did you use?
It was c16. Thanks for the offer on the wheels/tires but the largest I would consider going with would be a 17x8. Anything bigger than 17's and my brakes would look really puny.
Mike I think you have the highest HP wrx I have tuned to this date. I seriously wasn't expecting to make this much power with your car. IIRC the next closest WRX makes around 440hp. I guess you have made some serious changes since last time I tuned it.
good luck! unless you have some in the works already... Those are hard to find! I looked all over for them and settled on some 17x8.5s. Can I come ride along with someone in February? I'm not going to be driving my car because I killed my tires last time out. (school-job+ring+wedding+honeymoon=broke)
oh, and nice numbers!!!!!!!! that's insane! Remember Dave's funeral? We heard you driving around and my friends said "look, a subaru, you should go race him." I said, "no thanks, that's just a WRX. It's only a 2.0..." Yeah... What did I put down? 290ish???
The only changes were the heads and cams but those were done before you tuned it on meth. I was thinking of going to a .82 housing but I changed my mind after talking to you last week. I think I am done for now. If I put down any more power I'll probably have to upgrade the rods and I am not ready to tear the motor down again. I would however make an exception for an intake like the one you fabricated. I think Gary needs to step up and get a C16 tune. If he did I am sure he would have the most powerful bugeye you have tuned. What wheels and did they fit without rolling the fenders?
That's are just f#$@ing awesome numbers Mike. I can't even imagine what the car feels like now. It is good to hear that you're finally giving in to some better wheels and tires. You could probably get away without having to roll your fenders, but you'd have to stiffen it up quite a bit.
Just remember that if you are going to get some real tires you are going to need some real brakes to makes use of those real tires Siegel
nice numbers. i'll be at topspeed monday morning with my old subie! its new owner (good friend of mine) is getting her tuned with 2.5l, not that the numbers will be anywhere near those. again, congrats!
Wow. I would want to ride in it but it would probably make me cry knowing I won't be seeing that kind of power for many many many years to come.
Rota Slips. They fit, but rubbed a little in the back. I had 245/45 615s, which are closer to 255s. They're heavy, but strong. Joey C has a fender roller... I bet a six pack (of soda, he's 19) and he'd let us borrow it. I wonder what 245/40 REO1Rs would be like... I bet that would work.
Who's Joey C and would he be willing to let us borrow the fender roller for a day or so to roll a bunch of cars at once?
most certainly. It should be real interesting too. Yesterday I flat shifted from second to third and the car started to get a little sideways.:eek4: It is going to be a challenge to get it to hookup.
With crappy All-seasons I reckon it did! Tires make a world of difference. Sick numbers and great tune Doug. Mike I'm happy for you man.....I'll be trying to chase your numbers in the next year or two.
