Hey you guys, i havent posted on the forms before, but im really good friends with both Alexs, and i have meet a few members. I really like my R32, its unique, the interior is amazing, and its a really solid car. Although its a quick car, its just not fast enuf and i dont have 7grand to throw down on a Stage 1 turbo kit for the car. I found a really nice STi on Ebay with under 2,000 miles. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=31868&item=4559162650&rd=1 I would be able to sell my car for a little more and spend the extra cash on some simple mods. I dont want to hate, but German cars are really solid and the quality is really nice...I really want an E46 but its just to much. What do you guys think, R32 or STi? Obviously the STi is more powerfull but try to consider all aspects...i dont really know what i want but the 2 doors is getting anyoing when you got more than 2 people.
I guess it really depends on what you want. If you are looking for staright out perfomance, you should check out the EVO IX. Better tuner car outof the box. If you want to keep a little of the higher class feel while still getting more power/handling, than go STI. On the other hand, the R32's are really nice, heads and shoulders better in interior quality and do have a bit of a exculsivety thing going on. Tough call, unless you really know what you want from the next car...
I test drove the EVO VIII and that car is trash...im sorry but that car was so cheap and chincy i would never considering buying it, and im thinking the Evo IX is going to be the same quality/class... Sould i just keep the R32 till i finish college and then when i graduate get a M3 or should i just dump the R32 now and play around with the STi....damnit i dont know what i want other than an E46 :-D
I had a Corrado VR6 and kinda miss the N/A feel the car had. The R32 is a very very very limited edition car. The resale value of it will always be pretty high. Look at corrados now and they are very expensive, even now r32's are holding value extremely well compared to the STi(Can find several 24k STi's and few R32's below 28k) Just something to keep in mind.
Yah totally, i got my R32 for 27500 used with only 750 miles I only have 6500 miles on her , im not gonna lose anything haha....well see im going to test drive an STi today if the dealer is open
I am really really thinking about an STi now. Really digging Black with the gold rims. This car without the wing and hood scoop doesnt look that great, reminds me of a mazda protege, but im falling in love with this black STi Here is the link to the one im seriously considering.... http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.j...nced=&start_year=2003&isp=y&cardist=19#vdptop
heh, im gonna call gwinnett tomorrow for ya and find out the history of that car, might even venture up there. driving that evo today was pretty nice, too bad the guy at the dealership was a total jack ass. nothing like sliding an evo around a turn at 60 or so mph heh. :wavey:
yah thanks man just dont test drive it like we test drove that evo haha "WOOO WEEE YOU BOYZ BE CRAZY!" But i just looked at this dub and its so hot that its pulling me back to keeping the car Well, ill be back in a week (im leaving to go to Costa Rica with the rents tomorrow) and ill go and test drive the STi and then ill really consider the trade.
Check out he VWvortex comparison of the EVO, STi, and R32 (if you haven't already). It's a good read and very solidly done. Also, be sure to test drive the STi before you buy it to make sure you like it as much or more as your R32. If it were me though, I'd definitely take the STi....
It would be very difficult for me to step out of an R32 if I was in your shoes. However that is coming from someone that has a SouthernVolks tee shirt hanging in the closet..
i had an A4 before my R so i have only driven german cars...i really understand where your coming from but i just wish i could get more raw power out of the R32 without spending like 5 grand on her...while i was at the evo dealer i really relized that i love my car...im trying to figure out if i will be able to trade her in...
dude, keep the car, its good, modding cars is a headache, trust me i know, it kills the value of that car. R32s are pimpin. i love them very much. i sometimes wish i had one. i hate the tranny in the sti's. shift too much and the gear ratio is too close. i would like the sti if they had a nice 5 speed but they dont. keep the Dub till you graduate, then get a m series. for now spend the money on booze and girls.
R32 is tight, but so is the STi...its all personal preference..R32 definately has the edge on interior..heck even the exterior is very nice..
"for now spend the money on booze and girls." You sold me Tom you think like me...totally agree...Im going to get drunk and .... girls :-D Speaking of drunk i am now with my rents in costa rica hahaha i love alcohol
