I bought a cobb ap v2 used on ebay and attempted to install it to my car, but instead of saying "install" i only saw "uninstall" so i have no idea whats going on. Did this guy not umarrie it from his car?

just for reference, how much would it cost to unmarrie a cobb ap?

^^^ I think he meant for him not the original user... it costs a diaper load to send an unmarried unit to Cobb to get them to do it...

Dude, send it back to the moron who sold it to you and make him do it.

While you're at it get him to pay for shipping. That's just ridiculous.

    Yup.

And if he doesnt co-operate...paypal dispute FTW. Then use that $ to get it unmarried thru Cobb.

Yeah the seller by selling you the acces port essentially sold you his license and key. Since he did not make good on this, he is liable. It is truly the license and the key you are paying for, the firmware and hardware are nominal. Very disputable through paypal who insures the purchase up to a certain amount.

don't want to be a prick? he's the prick that sold it to you w/o it being unmarried. i'd rather be a prick about it instead of wasting my own money without getting anything except a headache and an AP that i can't use

    See below.

    I have to agree here.

However, let him respond my email first. If he agrees to a 100% refund (even if you pay shipping on the way back) then I'd call it a day at that. If he refuses refund even if you offer to ship it back to him at your cost on shipping, dispute with paypal and keep it. Use the $ you get back to send it off to cobb and have a working AP.

Just for future egay problems, when you have a dispute you need to prove that you sent the item back to the origianl seller with a tracking number. That way you are not tempted to dispute every purchase you make ;)

Glad you got this resolved... lotta scammers out there. I recently got scammed out of $50 for a Walbro that I never received and the seller stopped responding to emails. Paypal stated it was not disputable so I'm basically SOL... I'm just glad it was only $50 and not several hundred... At least your guy ponied up, hopefully just an honest mistake.

"beat him with this cobb paper weight over the head" even though I favored this remedy I'm glad it worked out without drama!

i recieved 300 from him and called back cobb and they said that it would actually cost $395 as they would have to either purchase back the license or i had to buy a new one? couldnt really remember what i was told, but the guy kindly sent me another $95.

Wow. You got lucky. Hardly seems worth it to buy used unless they are local I guess.

Yeah, sounds like it was an honest mistake, even though he took some time to respond.

    Good to hear, my friend!
