I need a code reader so I can pull the engine codes on my 1999 Suburban. I need to pull them to see what the tranny codes are before I start pulling the tranny out. I'd hate to get it all out and find out it was just a bad tranny sensor.

    thanks

If it's drivable I'd say just take it to an Autozone.

I'd bet that some of the auto parts stores would have one as a loaner tool, if you can't drive the Suburban up there.

You are going to need something more than just a simple code reader to get the trans code out. The ones that talk to the trans are like $50~$80 and up.

I have an OBDII Scan tool. Can the Suburban drive? If not we can meet up and you can borrow it for a while.

Ditto, I ahve a code reader that hooks up to a laptop and you can use one fo the free programs from the internet. I will be riding my bike next to your work on Monday so I can meet you and drop it off. Let me know.
