new turbo

    What turbo should i get next? Im upgrading the turbo that came with the Ultimate racing T3/T04S kit. Any help?

    Any reason why you're upgrading? Seems like doing cams/headwork would be more cost effective for more power than a larger turbo. How'd you like the spool on the T3/T04? You could go bigger, GT35R will pick up a little more HP, or you could go smaller and more responsive. The best part is that you've already got the rotated kit so you can custom make a turbo for whatever you want/need.

    isnt that Phil's car?

    that thing is a freaking blast with the turbo thats already on it...


    I would do cam/head work before a bigger turbo. Then after you have the cams/headwork done I would fine tune the turbo...aka not bigger, but better in all the small ways that would make it much 't3h gr4atR!' if you get my drift.

    You have to fix the heads before you change the turbo.


    This is a dyno chart of the last 3 turbos on my car. No matter what I did they all ended at the same place. They may have had a small increase in peak power but could never do any better up top.

    Turbos
    vf22 worked over by deadbolt (pe1820 clone)
    20G
    T3/TO4S


    It sucked going from the 20G to the T3/TO4S because there was barely any gain. I doubt you would see any difference changing to something bigger.

    Then I switched to ported wrx heads with some cams.

    And for even more fun you can throw some c16 in. This turbo is quite capable to make some serious power. Probably a little too much for the stock pistons.

    I really like the turbo i have..... But when the guy blew my motor up it looked liked he may have done the same to the turbo. lol Topspeed said they drove it and there was oil in the intercooler piping and mentioned the turbo. So i was just asking.

    If the turbo is bad then I would certainly consider upgrading since you are going through all the work to remove it.

    yeah, thats different if its blown/bad/torn up/UN-good/etc...

    I was thinking the UR gt35. Im not sure what will be just a direct swap. If any.

    I can send that turbo off and have it repaired for you, you also don't have to get the turbo from UR. There are lots of bolt on options. If you want to stop by the shop one afternoon Dan or I would be happy to go over turbo options with you.

    If anything is wrong with the T3/T04E I would go with a GT30R. He has Supertech Valvetrain in his head. With a mild port.
