I bought STi side skirts and got them installed. They are being held on with the stock side clips that snap in the holes on the car. My question is this....is there anything that is supposed to hold the STi side skirts on 'under' the car. There are several square holes on the underside. I didn't have the screw that goes on the front fender well so I zip tied it and the back hole at the rear wheel well. I think that will be enough but want to make sure. Don't want these falling off on the highway hnoes:. Its been years since my stock skirts have been on so I can't remember. And my floor jack have RUINED the jacking lips under my car:squint:!
I swapped side skirts with Alex, so I now have the STi Skirts as well. The only clips we used were the 2 in each wheel well. Skirt has been holding fast for over a year now.
Glad you got them. I put a small self tapping screw in the front fender well. With that and the snap clips they were very sturdy. Let me see some pics of them on the car.
Yeah you wrapped and packaged them EXCELLENT man. You need to teach me! With the zip ties they are on sturdy. I plan to wash the car and take pics tonight.
I dont remember, I'll take a look when I back outside. There were alot of them, and they held the sideskirts in place without the wheel well screws.
Question....do the STi side skirts usually come with that gray (I think) molding that goes along the edge of the skirt like the WRX does? If so is there any way I can order that piece?
it's black and yes they do. also there are around 5 clips on the bottom of the skirt that hold it on. they are bigger than your normal interior/undertray type clips with a grey center IIRC
Dunno if they are there....it's been two years since I've looked at them. They in the barn at my parents so I'm heading there after work Thanks guys.
skirt Just wanted to get them to you safely! That gray stripping was not on these when I got them. The set that I am getting painted does'nt have them either. If you find out where to get them please let me know.
I pulled the ones of my old stock skirts and it worked. I had to cut it at the front part where the edge goes up then across but it is there along the entire door jam area. I forgot the camera this morning so I will try to get pics soon.
The more and more I look at it the more I like it. It flows perfect with the rear spats. The front bumper is a tad lower but it's fine in my opinion.
