My current set up: ej205, Big16g, Turbo XS up, Injen3"Down, Stromung cat back, Deatschworks 565 with Walbro 255, sti tmic, SS Tune!

Are there any recommendations to nickle and dime my way to 300whp. I dyno'd in at about 278whp. My goal is 300whp. My current set up is great for daily drive and if I stay out of boost(mph), so I am not looking to swap blocks (yet) or do any major engine work. Would like to maximize this set up and tweak it to reach my goal.

    1. Sell the 565's go for modded stockers pushing 750-800 and switch to E85 :) $free if you tune yourself
    2. Nitrous $600 range
    3. Meth $600 range if you tune yourself
    4. Nice header $700-800 if you tune yourself
    5. P&P Stock header, P&P throttle body, P&P turbo (Nice increase in spool with this one) Cost of tools and your time....$50+- if you tune yourself
    6. Front mount may yield the extra you need SSAC costs around $400 again if you tune yourself

That is about all I got. It's all about if you tune yourself and what you are comfortable with.

Come to think about it, I have some extra wrx tgv's if you want to delete them and trade me your stockers + a little bit of cash.

Race gas or meth tune should get you there. Maybe go back and dyno in the cold of the morning if you really want to hit 300whp. Its just a number, hell go dyno on a dynapak if you want to hit 300whp for bragging rights. If not, step up to an 18G, you should be able to get one used for pretty cheap. Another option that has not been mentioned yet is to step up to an EWG uppipe and tune for more boost.

    TD05-18G or Meth.

    Pick your poison.

I personally would go for a 18G over meth. I would never run meth.

    Aint that the truth

I actually need a stock set to give to the guy that bought my motor, I was just suggesting that anybody with a wrx can trade me there stock ones for a deleted pair rather than putting the time into their own pair.

Had not thought about external wastegate, but yes that would almost certainly get those last couple ponies you are chasing. Sounds cool too :)

Self thread jack! So which EWG do you-all recommend without killing my budget that is a fairly straight install.

I wouldn't waste the time going with an external wastegate. By the time you buy the uppipe and wastegate you will have spent much more than if you sold the small 16g and got an 18g. And after all that work and money you still won't hit 300. You'll get close but not quite there.

You won't pick up 21 whp from an EWG on a pump gas tune. Your best solution is going to be to sell the 16G and get an 18G. That will be the easiest and safest way to get there.

Damn I just can't rationalize a new turbo after just swapping the 16g. That 18 is gonna make someone happy for $600. I can deal with 270WHP for a while. I thought I could squeeze an addtl 20 with a few subtle mods and tune but I guess not

I am interested and have been reading your thread. The only concern is the corrosive effect it has on internals and such. Is that true, or not?
