That's right. I was sitting at a light on eagle's landing parkway on my way to get some lunch, minding my own business. I look into the rearview just in time to see an FJ cruiser that is definitely still moving plow into the ass end of my car. I let out a very loud expletive and pull over to discover two very good things:

-The guy who hit me is a forest park police officer, so he was really cool. Called the henry co. cops immediately and gave me all of his information without me even asking. He was also really apologetic.

-The bumper, though somewhat mangled, mostly snapped back into place. It has two holes in it and some pretty ugly scuffing but it's sitting pretty much where it was before the accident after a little effort. It'll be fine till I can get it repaired. My exhaust was thankfully fine, as was the trunklid and the rest of the car. His truck actually faired worse.

He had also just picked up his wife who had just been t-boned and rolled her car not a mile up the road. :eek3: She was physically ok but kind of shaken up to say the least.

The police officer who handled the accident loved my car, and we talked subies for awhile. He said a guy had just gotten hit in a brand new 2008 sti a couple days ago in the area. It totaled his car. The dude was pissed. lol

Anyway, seeing as my car is fine other than some scuffing I'm still getting tuned tomorrow. Just thought I'd share a funny story. Cheers.

Get it checked for alignment and any undercarriage damage, better safe, it is a unibody chassis.

He said the night terrors are killing him, he doesn't know if he is going to be able to drive ever again. I hope the years of therapy help him.

Atleast its sounds 'low speed'...about 2 months ago I almost got to see a Duval Co. cop rear end an entire line of traffic that was stopped and he was doing 73~78mph.

Had he not swerved into the median he would have took out about 4~5 cars...

    And probably himself, too. Wow.

Yeah the guy wasn't going very fast. Maybe 15-20 mph when he hit me.

Thanks for all the good wishes, guys!

Damn, that sucks! I feel for ya, I dread the first door ding, wheel curb, and acccident!

In other news, Cops are scary drivers outside of a Crown Vic IMO. High speed pursuit juggling a radio and talking on thier cell phone? No Problem!

Cruising to Starbucks on the weekend in thier Chevy Cobalt with no radios, lights, buttons to play with = watch out Public!
