So I'm moving to Boston and looking for a radar detector for the trip up and driving around on the mass pike (notorious for cops) and I found these. I guess they have been out for a while. Has anyone used a laser jammer like this before? I know the 8500 x50 is a bit dated but even the new one is said to be only a minor improvement over it. I'm just looking for opinions on this stuff.

    Lets hear it guys...

yes, i have that combo set up and it works excellent. It's a little pricy (mine was around $800 installed about 8 years ago), but it's saved my ass many of time.

The best was when i passed the bike cop hiding in the bushes...i could see him shoot me, then smack his jammer like something was wrong, then 'try' and shoot me again.

long story short - i would recommend

Never used it, but seems like a good idea... I'd see if you could get the ZR3 with the 9500i though.. I've heard that GPS function where you can lock out common falses is pretty cool.. who knows though, I've also read reviews where people hated it, and went back to their X50 or V1... The only thing that scares me about the jammer is pissing the cop off.. It seems to me, that the cop would know for sure you have a jammer when he can't lock on you.. and pull you over anyways just to give you shit... With my luck they'd start rippin my car apart lookin for the jammers in my bumpers..

My understanding was that the zr3 only interfaces with the 8500 and 8500 x50 at the moment. I'm just not sure if its the latest radar jammer out there. I found a guy selling both for 400 or 500 so I think its an ok price.

my zr3 + shifter has saved me almost a dozen times.
several times as i drive by, the cop looks up from his gun
and makes eye contact while making a nasty grimace :)

nicad Yes I am a troll

the trick is to let the jammer go off, slow down then turn the jammer off so he gets a lock. Also remember that radar is not instantaneous.

sr7 shifter actually turns off after 3 s I believe.
and yeah, if you don't slow down fast enough, he'll still pick you up

Blinder jammer is best in the market, but costly. Esocrt jammer does it job, but i don't think it jams to the gun.
