so looking to get a 20g. Which brand should i stay away from and which on performs well? I found a really good deal on a used Forced Performance td06 20g, but heard not lotta ppl were impressed by it?
I have a DB Zilla 20G and had some initial problems with the wastegate porting, but Jerry resolved most of the issues with it.
yea i know deadbolt is better....from what i heard. Should i still pass the FP if i am getting it for a steal?
I dont think you will get that much of a gain from going from one brand TD06 20G turbo to another. If you are getting a deal on a FP, I say go for it!
what kind of numbers should i be looking at with 20g on a 2.5 hybird with supporting mods, 3" exahust/downpipe, ported stock headers, gutted sti upiped, 650cc injecs, intake....350ish?
na man....20g should satisfy my hunger for now since it's a straight bolt on. If i go rotated...then i'll want this and that annnnnd that :hsnono:. Gotta limit it.
I had a vf39/meth put down 305/314 went with the FP18G/meth put down 310/279 took that POS off and put on the DB18G/meth which is my current configuration 340/318 this is on the 2.0. Talk to Mike (liquidforce) I think he got over 400awhp on his 20G back in the day. Not sure the brand tho.
good numbers man, i know for fact that 20g will put better numbers than the vf 39 lol, i'll be giving up the quick spool i have with 39.
yea i will be getting that too, but i think the guy said....it's 2.4inlest and might have 8cm hotside. Any downside? Won't 2.4 give me a lil quicker spool and with 8cm it will have less back pressure hence bit more powaa?
Not according to your craiglist.com info. http://atlanta.craigslist.org/car/732160808.html "y'all don't even wanna know how much $$$$$ is invested in this car"
I think that the only down side to the FP 20G's is that they tend to creep a little more. If you are gettin a good deal, I say get it. You can help the creep by porting the WG before your install or go with a EWG set up. I have nothing but good things to say about my old IWG FP Red.
I do not think you will suffer much lag with the 20G 8cm hot. I mean I got the 18G 7cm on my 2.0 and cannot notice a difference from that and the vf39 except the redline comes much quicker. EDIT: I would get Deadbolt's finest 20G, ported, coated (I got the new RED coating)and clipped (more top end). Free rebuilds for life, 3 way balancing act, just all around better service etc...
If you get a 20g please do yourself a favor and get EWG. It'll solve the creeping issues that the 20g's are known for.
Not only that, but you should realize more hp and tq merely by raising the volumetric efficiency of your engine. All big positives!
why not just keep the car the way it is. Dont get me wrong, but that wrx already gets enough attention at any meet it goes to. j/k put that 20g in there.
we'll see what goes on....deal is till in works. Now the guy can't make up his mind...if he wants to let it go or keep it. I wanna stay max 20g or atleast 18g. W/e i can find a deal on soon..i'll pick it up. Plus Red's too lagy for me. I wanna keep quick spool character. i don't wanna pull rail carts....hauling ass is diff story.
with your 2.5 block you can go gt35 and not have any problems... dont go 1/2 ass with 20g and go all out. lol i thought you was getting an ebo? what happened? then you wouldnt need 20g to make 360 at the wheels.
He doesn't need to go above a 20g because he won't make any more power with those stock heads. LiquidForce can vouch for that. If you really wanna haul butt then go GT35R but do cams and head work at the same time.
not looking into a build rite now, just simple bolt on upgrades. Build in future when i get tired of 20g lol.
im also interested in the vf39 turbo. IF your going to sell it, and that guy doesnt buy it PM me, thx.
