I paid $30 for my dual horn setup. There is a VW guy, on http://forums.vwvortex.com , that is a rep fro Hella. He sells them outta his trunk at the monthly Varsity meet (1st Thurs of each month). I think his name is Chris, can't remember his s/n tho.
I'd be down for $30....is it REALLY loud?....i don't use my horn that much down here though....horns are big in NY though definitely....maybe that's why it's so quiet here
I'd like to hear them in person first. My horn rules when beeping are: 1) Target must be scared shitless 2) lights dim 3) mirrors vibrate 4) big rig sound is a plus, see #1

i want a rear set too so i can make tailgaters wet themselves, maybe a rear facing IC spray too..... and some bright halogens....this is sounding like a moonshine runner

I don't see why not. it a 12V horn, so can come straight off of the battery. Just need a small switch to close the circuit

I snooped around that VW forum it looks like the $30 are the air horns not the supertone. I could be wrong thou. The ones ima looking for are the Supertone horns they run 60ish. Trey let me know if you can get me his SN or something. I will try to set up a groupbuy and get this down. So who all wants em. Give me a PM and i'll start up a list.
no air horns, but supertones depends on the price. Not $60.... that's way too high for horns i rarely use.
As long as it's under $50, i'm down for this. Also there are two different version of SuperTone if i remember correctly. I want the louder one.
so if you upgrade the horn does that mean when you arm and disarm a factory alarm...it's gonna be mad loud?
From an install discussion on nasioc, I read that the horn will not get enough voltage to make any real noise for the brief honk from locking the car. I dunno if these are the same way. I'm trying to find the link with little success.
Your right, when you lock the car it doesnt put out a full honk and kinda sounds like hitting a tin can with a spoon. I just turned that feature off. Yesterday i got in a honking contest with a dump truck! lol, the horns are so awesome!
