So I decided to change the interior up a bit. I was tired of the gray upper half...so now it's black. I also was tired of the green lighting and finally got off my ass to change it too, but I don't have any bulb condoms. And I really want it to be amber/orange, so I take some stained glass paint and paint each bulb. I like it.

It actually looks more orange than in the pics, the camera seems to brighten it up more than it is. I took the needles off though when I did it, so they all read a little higher than normal. Speedo is off by about +6 mph, tach is off I'd say around 700 rpm, and water temp reads a little higher.

Looks nice. Will the stained glass paint take the heat produced by the bulbs in the long term?

Looks great! How long did that take you?

Yea the paint holds up fine, I've used it on other bulbs before. It didn't take too long. i guess if you concentrate on just getting it done maybe a few hours, mostly waiting for the paint to dry.

Did you have a guide to follow or did you just rip into your dash?

I followed the quide on nasioc for the most part, but alot of the work I do I kinda just jump in and figure it out along the way. The stock radio was much easier than I thought.

I still need to finish the visors and oh shit handles. That's right, I'm a slacker. Thought about getting those wrapped but no moneys right now.

While we could wrap them for you...have you considered using RIT dye (from kroger/publix) to dye them?

After I got the STi cluster...I changed to red.

Now I have a new head unit that is Blue...I ordered the Blue bulb covers; they should be here Wed. I will have extra's if you need 'em.

I think i will take you up on the offer. How much do you want for the extras?

I got the paint from a crafts store, Michaels. Like 8 bucks or so for a can, but one will last forever. Stained glass paint. But if you want red just get the bulb condoms, that would make it easier. It really looks more amber/orange than the pics make it out to be.

    Update:

I got the blue bulb covers in and for some reason, it never dawned on me that the ones I took off that made everything green, were..........BLUE

So I was back to a green HVAC. I couldn't have that; put the red covers back on and now I will look for the "white" light bulbs to replace the OEM "yellow" bulbs.

Hey man im loving the dash, i think u have convinced me to get off my ass and do the same thing. Does anyone know where you can buy the light buld condoms in that color?

Wait, what? The covers I pulled off were green. I think I remember somewhere that anybody that used the blue, they usually came out blue/green. You can't fit two of those bastards on either can you?

The Hvac lights are real easy to get, just reach around the knobs and you will feel it. Slight turn left and they come out!

Are you talking about mine or the blue? I painted my bulbs, I don't know if there are condoms in orange.

the red condoms do turn out to look a little orange...or red-ish.

going by the pics...I would say that they will be more red.

^^^ no, your 07 has LED's soldered to that green circuit board. We also found this out the hard way, when trying to change out Face's after mine took 3 minutes.
You will only need condoms for the key ring.

    Bump!

Got the blue led's...just the wrong ones. These are focused, so the light mainly heads out the front. I called the store, and they will send a 3 way matrix led that should do the trick.

But for now, it's blue; with some fading on the outside edges...
