What exhaust do you have and what do\dont you like about it

    For example

    JIC Bullet Titanium (resonated)

    Likes...
Its 3inch all the way back which is nice

    Its weighs almost nothing.

Its sounds pretty good, loud but not to bad for around town.

    Dislikes
    Fitment is just OK

    Dents easily

    Drowns on the highway

Cost an arm and a leg.

    Great rumble driving around

    Was priced very well

    Fitment was good

    Dislikes

    2.5" taper at the midpipe

    Drones on the highway

    Prodrive Round Tip

Subtle exhaust tip, not slanted like a ricer

Damn near stock sound, but a little rumble when you get on it

No drone at all on the highway

    Fitment was perfect

Price (used) was hard to beat

    Dislikes
    2.5" axleback

Almost too quiet....not enough rumble at WOT

not too loud, but audible enough
    ricetastic canister and angle
resonator that i was able to pass off as a "cat"

    dislikes-
fitment is just ok...sits abit off center
the damn grocery bag that got stuck to it on 85 that stained it

    Prodrive Oval Tip
    Build quality: Factory level welds
    Fitment: OEM

    Pros
    • This thing is so badass that it only needs one pro and no cons.

    Invidia N1 (Resonated)
Build Quality: The best welds a Chinese computer and robot can do
Fitment: Never had an issue save for the "JDM" angle that singed my bumper

    Pros
    • Was loud and obnoxious just like I wanted...at the time
    • Ricer angle
    • Sounds great on track

    Cons
    • Loud and obnoxious
    • Ricer angel
    • Havent been to the track in over a year
    • Yay for drone! I cannot imagine what the "Race" one was like

    Greddy Evo 2
Never installed it but it looked like every other average exhaust out there. Muffler was too large for my taste.

    Cobb
Build Quality: Appears to be of high quality :) Welds look excellent, thing looks like its worth the money.
Fitment: Fits better than the Invidia but suffers from con #1. Will not fit properly if you have an after market downpipe with 3" piping.

    • More badass than the prodrive
    • Nice subtle look
    • Excellent Sound
    • Proper muffler design

    Cons
    • Craptastic intermediate pipe design (who the hell needs a "stock fitment" intermediate pipe)
    • Drone @ 80 - 85mph but nothing like the Invidia. Drone may be due to poor fitment.

    GTscoob Black is Beautiful

    APS 3" TBE
    Pros:
    Great sound
Relatively quiet around town, roars at WOT
    Awesome quality and look
Stainless steel, no rust after 5 years on car

    Cons:
    Expensive
No OEM twin-scroll flanged downpipe (ridiculous since Aussie and JDM cars get the twinscroll and it would be as easy as swapping the bellmouth out)
    Must use proprietary APS downpipe
Downpipe hung low and bottomed out a few times

    STI catback
    Pros:
Quiet even at WOT. My turbo is louder than this exhaust
    Stock look and quality
    Dirt cheap

    Cons:
    2.5" midpipe and axle-back
    Too quiet
No JDM bling appeal, too common

    Ebay Tsudo/ERZ catback

    Pros:
    Cheap
    full 3''
    Fitment was okay
    jdm angle?
    nice rumble

    Cons:
    Its a knockoff...
    quality
    big muffler

    HKS Carbon Ti

    Pros:
Carbon fiber canister * the coolness wears off*
    jdm angle?
    full 3''
    good rumble
    fitment

    Cons:
One of the loudest exhaust you can get for the wrx *could go either way*
    big muffler
    expensive

    Invidia Downpipe/Custom Muffler-Shop-Special 3" catback.

    Pros:
Loud, raspy, pops, crackles, and is generally uncivilized.
Look is rather subtle (when the car is off...i.e. its not a coffee can)
    Inexpensive (damn cheap actually)
Will still make some great power.
Not afraid to hack it up
Sounds like a damn race car :ddirty:

    Cons:
Loud, raspy, pops, crackles, and is generally uncivilized.
Drones like a bitch on the highway
No resonator...or anything but a teeny muffler really.
Looks like poo under the car.
    No JDM bling factor.

I have a Up pipe, Invidia V4 DP and a Tanabe Racing Touring Medallion CB.

    Pros:
    -Great sound at WOT
    -3" all the way back
    -Catted for my conscience
    -No drone
    -SS piping
-Cool built in skid plate where the piping goes into the muffler.
-Allows me to go to stage 2
    -Big muffler attracts attention

    Cons:
-A little loud when cruising around town
-Had to get long hangers to avoid banging noises
-A little pricey compared to other exhausts
    -Big muffler attracts attention

I have been thinking about painting the muffler black for a more stealth look. I already have a black and white color scheme and I have been trying to remove all chrome. I had a black exhaust on my eclipse and it made it look stock until I cranked it up. The noise was unholy, inhuman, etc.

i have a prodrive catted downpipe to three inch no cat no resonator all the way to the rear with no muffler on my 04 wrx...

    pros:
loud ass hell and still sounds good
    very little drone at all
quiter than most cars at cruising speeds
    very very cheap
    clean look from behind
    lots of whistling

    cons:
gets alot of attention ( cops ) never been pulled over for it though
    sets of car alarms

over all i love it... i can be quiet when i need to and louder than anythign and it cost me almost nothing

TurboXS 4" bellmouth -> 3" cat back -> 2.5" axle back all turboxs

    Pros:
    Nice sound
    Fairly quiet at cruising
    Good sound on WOT
    All stainless with no cats

    Cons:
2.5" axle back will eventually be a restriction
Tight fit with my Trailer hitch :)

    Great power adder

    Fireballs

Got the full turbo back and uppipe used for 300 dollars, can't complain there

Great fitment and sticks out just far enough to not char your bumper

    Dislikes

Very loud(110-113 db WOT from the test i saw), but doesn't drone too bad on highway even without resonator.

    Turbo XS up-pipe
    Injen 3" catted DP
HKS HP Catback Full 3 no resonator

    Pro's
    Fitment on everything was great.
Everything works in harmony, free flowing
Everyone warned me the HKS was LOUD AS SHIT and it is not unless you want it to be: WOT when boost kicks in otherwise not bad but uncivilized enough so people go WTFWT
Pisses of Girlfriend and snooty chicks in Benzes.....priceless
One tiny cat for my conscience
Believe it or not everything except the up pipe was used, the whole friggin' exhaust cost $650
    Cons
Makes me want to get a Hybred with a big turbo so car is as fast as it sounds!
Big muffler requires 17's or 18"s wheels because somehow it makes the stock wheels look puny

Requires the flange to be cut and rotated to mate to an Invidia 3" DP. Comes with 2.5" coupler.

    SrS exhaust (crappy ebay exhaust)

    pros:
    crazy cheap
    3 inch stainless steel
    decent quality (for the price)
    sounds good
    not to loud
looks decent (4 inch tip, nicely angled, and doesn't look cheap)

    cons:
the only real con is that it is embarrasing when people ask what kind of exhaust you have and your forced to answer "ebay"

  23. FTZ

    FTZ ^.^

    Scoobysport full catless exhaust

    pros:
    Stock look
    Almost silent at idle
    Discreet at low rpm
    Mean at WOT
    Rare
No Drone when cruising on the highway

    cons:
    Expensive
Only available at 1 place in the US and that place no longer exists
Sometimes I wish it was a little louder
With Resonator removed, sounds tinny on cold startup. Once warm, it sounds great though.

Helix DP / Blitz Nur Spec R

    Pros
    Loud as shit at idle
    sexy sound around town
    stupid loud at WOT
loud on the highway, radio has to be turned way up

    cons
hangs a little to the left
hangs a little low where it meets the DP
when you have a headache, its not the exhaust you want
    loud
    etc

    i'm a bit different here since i don't have b0000st :unamused:

STi midpipe with custom extension, STi axleback

    Pros:
    silent at idle
    very bassy at low rpms
adds a subtle growl at high rpms
    minimal droning on the highway
    OEM quality
    cheap and easy to find

    Cons:
needed custom work to make the midpipe fit
muffler tip looks out of place for a weak N/A car
    hangs down a bit
muffler can is a little large for my taste
overall pipe size is too big for 165 horses
