Earlier this year when I did my first oil change I found out that the previous owner had gotten rid of the plastic undertray. I decided that I was going to get a metal undertray. I finally decided to go with a 3/16 inch primative skid plate. It is pretty nice I thought I would share some pictures.

It weights about 17 pounds. But this one is the 3/16 inch skid plate. Primative racing sells 1/8" skid plate that is the same style I think it is about 10 pounds.

very nice...make sure to post some pictures up after install. We did my sways this weekend and when we finished Jeb and I had two extra bolts left over...they go on the plastic tray, we just had no idea how to put them back on. Hope they weren't that important....and at least there are about 40 other screws holding it in place.

    Nice!

Does the car feel any different on the highway? I've been told that the undertray is an important aerodynamic element of the car.

I do not feel difference on the highway. But I did notice a less engine noise at idle.

I wish that it had a compartment/flapper to make oil changes a breeze.

They will cut a oil filter access hole for a charge. I figure if I need that I can do that myself down the road.

I know but you will still drip oil all over the underside.

You could relocate the oil filter to a more accessable place and do a quick disconnect to drain the oil through the plate.

It was pretty easy to install I could not get the middle bolt in because my subframe is bent in the front. It took me 10 min by myself. I hardest thing was holding up the plate by myself.
