does anyone want to go to topspeed and get an ecutek flash or reflash? I'm thinking about going in 2 weeks and I know it will be cheaper with someone else.
i already talked to them about this... they can't do any sort of group buys and offer discounted rates for ECUTEK
maybe not on a purchase, but what about just tuning time? i got this ecutek from somone so it already has the license. I need it tuned for the new mods... Is topspeed better than gwinett? milo do you still have the hookup on txs fmic?
i doubt it because tuning is by the hour... but its worth trying to see if u can cut a deal... lemme know if it works out for u scott at SOG has been tuning my car since i got ECUTEK in january... ive been extremely happy with his tunes... doug at topspeed is real cool too and from what i hear, also a great tuner... so u cant go wrong with either :bigthumb: will shoot u a pm
Initial Ecutek is $850. We include 2 hours of road tuning with that. Sometimes that's enough, but I tell most people to prepare for one additional hour at $120 an hour. I believe we're about the same prices as Topspeed. If you already have Ecutek then it's just the $120 per hour... I like road tuning, in the real world, in different gears, etc. We can get on the dyno after the road tuning, or I'm pretty close at approximating whp and wtq. SS
We charge the same amount as SOG. I would believe the only difference is that we dyno tune everything on our dyno, then take her out on the road. I think Scott mainly road tunes because of the long process to dyno a car there. To be honest you would get a great tune at both places. Scott does a great job at tuning and has many happy customers as do we. It all just comes down to what is more convienent to you and which place you like better.
Both are great tuners, and masters in their on rights. Both from what i hear will go beyond their duty to make the customer happy. Atlanta is lucky to have some great tuners like these two.
I have really enjoyed our positive relationship. I must admit that I have learned a lot from Doug. I hope that I have brought some good information to the table as well, and I really feel that certain inherent difficulties with these systems are often handled better by two heads than one. I believe that us working together has made both of us better, allowing both of us to turn out better tunes for our customers. SS
^^^ What Scott said. It's been awesome to see the two of them work together, it's the way a tuner community really should be. Two brilliant people working together to offer good service and good experiences to the Subaru community.
I have a friend that just bought a WRX that has Vishnu XEDE in it. I was wondering if you guys have the software to tune that computer.
I have tuned one in the past.. but do not have the software anymore to tune with. I am sure I can get a copy of the software though if your friend would like.
after reading this threadI can't stop saying WOW I've never in my life witnessed such great civility between two tuners. This is the stuff that makes me want a subi even more *big ups*
The truth is that both Doug and I have almost more business than we can handle, so there's no reason to compete. Everybody runs into strange anomalies that are much easier to figure out with two heads than one... We also have experience with different things so we might as well pool some of our experiences... This advantage gets even bigger when we start traveling. If Doug does 10 cars in Florida, and I do 10 cars in Colorado we can chat about tuning at sea level, and at 10,000 feet... It is pretty cool though It is one of the things I really enjoy about this job. SS
